Some products score better now, and the reason is one we got wrong. Luni used to take a mark off when a pack named its fragrance allergens — limonene, linalool — on top of the mark for the fragrance itself. EU law requires naming them, so we were charging brands for telling you what is in the bottle and going easier on the ones that hide it inside "Parfum". That penalty is gone. 61 products stop being capped for an irritation risk they only carried by being honest about it. Most product pages now say where the ingredient list was read from, and when. A score is only as current as the list behind it, and brands reformulate quietly. If the pack in your hand says something different, trust the pack. Your shelf can now tell you how old a product is — from what the pack says, and nothing else. Record the printed date at whatever precision it shows, the months in the open-jar symbol, and when you opened it. Luni takes the use-by as the earlier of the printed date and your opening date plus the open-jar months, and reads it as Fresh, Use soon, Expiring soon, Past use-by, or Expiry unknown. Nothing is pre-filled and nothing is scanned. With nothing entered the answer stays Expiry unknown, and Luni says so rather than guessing. If you do not know the exact day you opened something, say roughly: about three months ago, or more than six. Luni labels the result an estimate wherever it appears and trusts it less, and an open-ended guess is never allowed to read as Fresh. No status and no countdown is stored; both are worked out again from your entries and today's date each time you look. On the shelf, a line appears on a row only when there is something to say. A summary card counts what to use first. Product pages gain a Freshness and storage section where every line of advice names where it came from. Luni does not judge the condition of anything you own. A use-by is a date calculation. Use What I Own now puts a product past its use-by on a new Replace list, and an opened product close to its use-by moves up Finish First. Finish First has moved out of Pro: both lists are free. Products past their use-by are also held out of your routine under their own heading, with the reason, and stop counting towards coverage and your home health score. Face SOS and the light-therapy views still show everything you own. Use-by reminders are free, and off until you turn them on and allow notifications: 90, 30 and 7 days ahead, and once the day after. You can now record what you paid for a product, and see where the money went: what you spent on things you loved against things that were not for you, what was used up against what was left unfinished, and what your ten costliest products cost a day. Entering prices is free; the summary is part of Luni Pro. Every total says how many of your products actually carry a price, and Luni never decides whether a product was worth the money. There is also a place for everything that is not face skincare. Body, hair, lips, hands and make-up get their own list under your profile, with the same dates and the same use-by, kept apart from your skincare shelf. Sunscreens: 634 now show a SunScore rather than a dash, up from 573, all from reading published labels rather than any change to the formula. Where a label has been recorded, the card names the source it came from. Sixty EU UVA-circle claims that rested on an ingredient database rather than a label are gone: fifty-one withdrawn for want of evidence, nine disproved by the label itself. The catalog is now 9,908 products across 255 brands. Two other scoring corrections moved 366 of the 8,794 scored products, most of them up: an acid at the tail of a list is read as a pH adjuster rather than a hidden active, and caffeine is graded as a real active at a 3% working dose. Smaller things: the bundled catalog ships compressed and takes about 19 MB less space on your phone, and a handful of buttons that were not drawing on some screens are back.
