Doesn’t load
The app doesn’t seem to load in the first place. Very disappointed. I have cancelled our subscription. Other than that, we used to enjoy the contents of the app.
Needs work
This app has a lot of potential but needs so much work. It’s like the developers didn’t test it before launching it:
- the feeling questions seem helpful at first but then you realize they use the same roughly 12 questions on repeat. My kid got annoyed eventually with the repeated questions. Some of those questions are bizarre and miss the point. Like “what can we tell from body language? A. A stomach ache b. A bad reputation c. Happiness. The correct answer is happiness but like wouldn’t it also technically be a stomach ache? Another example: during the “generosity” learning the question asks you “what doe’s it mean to help a friend with home work” the answer is ‘being kind’ but they had just used that as an example of generosity with your time. So shouldn’t the answer reflect the learning? And the answer be generosity?
- glitches: the rendering is sometimes blurry. The questions interject at strange times then the video skips backward. Etc
- games: the video at the beginning explains the emotion in a kid friendly way which is great but the game seems totally unrelated to that emotion. They are just random games that don’t seem to have any educational value. And don’t get me started on the controls. They are terrible and very inaccurate causing tons of errors making it difficult for the kid the be successful in the game. My kidreally disliked most of the games because of this.
- Videos: some of these videos are great. They speak slow, clearly and in kid friendly language and teach great lessons about emotions and how we can control our feeling and responses to feelings. A few videos miss the markat times though. Like for example when one character takes another characters spot, they stand up for themselves and ask for their spot back but the friend refuses to give it to them despite it being the place they say at the break all day. A third friend interjects and says “let’s not fight, I have another towel” and the person whose spot was taken has to move. Then they agree to not argue over little things she “hug it out”. Not totally wrong but I think this kind of misses the point that the friend shouldn’t have stolen the spot and should have been the one to move to the new spot. Kind teaches that you can take things from people and get your way.
There is a serious need for a good emotional intelligence app for kids and I wish I could help this company fix this app because it has the potential to fill that gap. But I won’t be buying this app after the 3 day trial in its current state.

App doesn’t work. Scam
App does not work and I have been charged twice totally $300 for a ‘free’ trial. No response after multiple contact attempts either

Finally, something I can trust for my son. As a teacher and Mother to a young boy, I am hyper focused on quality screen time and learning. LuvBug is fun, engaging and instills life lessons in children. I don’t worry when my son grabs his tablet and clicks LuvBug. A must download for any parent or guardian!
