FAQ

What does the Lux Light Meter app do?

This app functions as a versatile light meter, providing accurate measurements of ambient light levels in lux and foot candles. It helps users assess and adjust lighting conditions for photography, plant care, and general environmental analysis.

What are the key features of this light meter app?

Key features include real-time measurement of color temperature, readings in both lux and foot candles, calculation of the daily light integral (DLI), display of average and maximum values, and the ability to select and fix optimal shooting values like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.

Is this app a replacement for a professional lux meter?

No, the app explicitly states it is not a replacement for a professional lux meter and is intended for personal needs only. While it offers accurate measurements, professional-grade equipment is recommended for critical applications.

What is the daily light integral (DLI) and why is it useful?

The daily light integral (DLI) is a measure of the total amount of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) received by a plant over a 24-hour period. This app calculates DLI, which is useful for plant enthusiasts to ensure their plants are receiving adequate light for growth.

How can I use this app for photography?

For photography, the app helps you measure the light in your scene to determine optimal exposure settings. You can select and fix values for shutter speed, aperture, and ISO in real-time to achieve the desired lighting for your shots.
