My favorite puzzle game

I’ve been playing this game for many years and still enjoy it! I know the update wasn’t loved by many people, but I just appreciate that the creator is still active in its maintenance. Some of my other favorite puzzle games from high school are unusable due to lack of updates and incapability. But Lyne has always been there and will be for quite some time it seems. I love this game and enjoy my daily puzzles. My only wish is for more new puzzles!

Decrease in Puzzles?

UPDATE 3/25/26: So, up until last fall this was a 5-star game in my book for years. Then I downgraded it to 4 stars with the tenth anniversary update (see below). I am now decreasing the starts further because at least twice so far in 2026, the game has updated and wiped my progress. Today I am back to it asking my language, all settings reset to default, and zero progress. Which means no daily games till I replay, yet again, the ridiculously easy first levels. This is wasting my time. What the heck is going on with this game? This is a prime example of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

———

I’ve played this game for I don’t know how many years and would have always given it 5 stars until this tenth anniversary update. I only play the demanding puzzles and was greatly disappointed to see that there are now fewer puzzles per day. There always used to be 25 puzzles per level and then there were 16. Now today there were 8?! Why have the number of puzzles decreased? I understand if it’s effort to make new ones but certainly some could be recycled from the past - who’s going to remember? Thank you for reading this.

Update is not as good

This was my favorite game. Every morning I did the daily challenge. It was my routine. The new format is not as enjoyable and so few puzzles per day. Also the colors and format is dizzying. Please bring back old format and the daily 40 (60 on weekends) puzzles. Please!!

Response from developer

Hello, thanks for your review. I’ve decided to increase the number of daily levels in a future update soon so please look forward to that. I would really like it if you could clarify what you mean by ‘colors and format’, as no colors were changed with the update. You can contact me at tom@thomasbowker.com

Bring back the old format please!

Please bring back the old format where there were 25-50 puzzles per day( and 75 on weekends) - the new format has too few puzzles and isn’t challenging enough. Also I agree with a previous review that the screen format is too small and needs to be bigger especially for those of us who play on our phones…otherwise still my favorite game and well worth the price I paid for it years ago!

Update 11/3: appreciate the new larger screen format…thank you!

Update 11/9: After another week of the new puzzle format, I’m still not liking the decreased number of puzzles…doesn’t feel challenging enough…can’t zone out and relax my mind when there are only 4-20 (not always challenging) puzzles to solve…

Response from developer

Hello, my reasons for reducing the daily level count was to try and balance the time required to complete all the daily levels. I felt, especially later in the week, the game was asking a lot of time of the player and some of the sets I felt became tedious. Being able to reduce the puzzle count also allowed me to introduce some special sets with very difficult levels. The size of the game on screen is very close to the maximum I can make it. If you could, please send me a screenshot of a level you think is too small so I can have a look. Please give the new daily sets a chance, and I’d love to hear what you think after a week or so at tom@thomasboker.com.
