I'm really getting sick of these app devs who dare put a app behind a Subscription, fine additional features can be locked behind a Subscription, but not the app iself, that's not on, and any app that does this, is immediately uninstalled from my iPhone 15 Pro never to be installed again.

This app went from something that was useful even when free to something that doesn’t even work in free mode. Essentially making all the lyrics and previous song sheets worthless to reopen and work on as every update removes free functionality and tries to force you to subscribe. The bait and switch tactics used by the developer made me uninstall and go back to old fashioned pen and paper. This is not the way to get new customers!

I had hundreds of documents in it, and now all of a sudden I have to pay to even access basic features? Forced me out of the app, so do not download unless you’re willing to fork over $100 a year
Losing Written Lyrics
I am deleting and not utilizing this anymore, I have lost numerous full lyrics for songs even though they saved. The file is still there but completely empty. Can’t believe I pay for this

I use this app to create children’s books and it’s been so helpful. The syllable count and rhyming feature are great. I downloaded a lot of the other apps but prefer this on the most. It’s simple and does what you need.

GREAT UI
I’ll start this off by saying what a great app and also it is very nicely put together. It is exactly what I want in a lyric tabbing app. I wish there was a one time payment option instead of a subscription but I understand the creators are being compensated for their awesome work on this app! That would be my only “suggestion”. The app Rocket Money allows for a subscription but of any price that is deemed fair to the customer. It’s usually 7 dollars a month but I felt $3 was fair with how much I was making and for what I was getting out of the app. i’ve been using rhymers block to see if I like it better but honestly I enjoy your app so much more! Either way, I love what is happening in this app and can’t wait to see how it grows more.

Pricing is crazy
Very good idea nearly perfect but… Pricing is just crazy regarding to what it does. Who can pay that for that. And why a subscription ? I hate subscription, and here it has no justification for that.

Hi EugèneJérôme, thank you for taking the time to leave a review with kind words around how good the idea of Lyrcs is; it's taken many years of hard work to get to where it is today 🥹 I hear your concern around the choice for the subscription model for Lyrcs and I hope the following addresses some of it. Given you're in France a yearly subscription would cost you 5 euro a month, an equivalent to a good coffee. That 5 euro goes towards building new features, fixing bugs and responding to customer support. It's understandable to think that once Lyrcs is built, no more development is needed but unfortunately this isn't the case. For example, with every major macOS or iOS update, something in Lyrcs has broken (just recently iOS 18.1 removed the ability to edit files). Developers like myself need to continually invest our time and money into fixing these things, otherwise you're left with a broken app and noone wins. I hope this does provide some justification for the subscription but I am always happy to hear feedback. If you'd like to discuss further, please don't hesitate to contact me on the website: https://lyrcs.app/#contact I would be even happy to provide an extended trial of PRO if you wanted more time to evaluate the PRO features. I've been using a lot of lyric-writing, poetry-writing apps for years now and this one is by far the best. Syllable counting, rhyme matching, it's got it all and works across my devices. Love it and can't say enough good stuff about this app.

Great Start…
Hey, really like where you are going with this. Love the syllable count along left margin, and the way you don’t highlight all prospective rhymes or interesting word combinations like Rhymer’s Block does. I also like that all rhymes are different colors. Presumably phonetic rhymes occur across song sections? Would be cool. A few changes to make it ready for me to buy: 1) move the rhyme list over to the right side of the screen so it doesn’t obscure the lyrics I already have while I’m searching for a rhyme; I’d prefer if it wasn’t separate window but just another column too with less clutter; so the app is not trying to find rhymes too much, let us sit over a word for maybe 5-10 seconds before you start showing rhymes; 2) show internal rhymes within a line or neighboring lines; 3) add more rhymes; 4) have a looser interpretation of what rhymes to include imperfect rhymes, such as “aim” and “games”. This could be a big app I think. Wish you well with further development! Good luck!

Real Mac App for Writing Lyrics
This app does exactly what it says, looks great, and does it while being a real Mac app. It's exactly what I wanted.
It uses plain text files, which is amazing, because they're easy to backup and I'm not locked in at all.
On top of it all, the developer is extremely responsive. It's the app I would make, but now I don't have to!

A Real Mac App for Writing Lyrics
This app does exactly what it says, looks great, and does it while being a real Mac app. It's exactly what I wanted.
The only thing I would like to see added is a way to annotate sections and chords that gets ignored for the syllable counting and rhyming.

My only Request atm would be the ability to not color code override rhymes but also use highlights (i tend to use highlights for rhymes and colored text for assonance and alliteration (both internal and external).
The rhyme helper isn't very effective yet but I don't plan to use it too much so I don't mind. Another thing I do to help graph rhyme schemes is use superscript numbers to signal where a line ends on the bar-line. Ex: '¹' '²' '³' '⁴' .ect
I just put those in the rhyme search area to easily copy and paste them.

I've proposed the idea to others (really anyone who I believe may take the idea) of a multi syllable rhyme dictionary which would be super useful and would be unique. You could have a community build a multi syllable rhyme dictionary by having people submitting suggestions and their own rhymes (ofc monitoring them). As a paid add-on thats a great idea and the only one of it's kind. There are others working on book multi-syllable rhyming dictionaries but they are doing it completely alone and are very small in size at the moment.
Anyways, I gave the app a 5 star review because I want it to have a chance to improve.

Feature Request: Rhyme Identification
1) To colour-mark rhymes that appear within a line and not just at the end of a line.
2) Option: User defined rhyme proximity detection e.g. if a rhyming word appears within the next N=2 lines the rhyme is marked, otherwise the rhyme is ignored until there's another two rhymes that match the critera

Thanks for taking the time to review and provide those feature requests OpenedEyes 🙏Those are excellent suggestions!1) I will look into this. In the meantime if you have a word that you would like rhymed, a workaround would be to have that word be at the end of the line. 2) I can see how this would be useful when you only want rhymes to be grouped by sections like a verse. I have added rhyme grouping by sections in version 3.7.0. All the best in the lyric writing journey ✨
I need to learn to match syllables to music
I should have learned on my own before, I know, but I don’t know which syllables match with which musical notes. I’m not seeing ANYTHING to help me with this, beyond color coding, and what looks like a rhythm counter.
