Great Looking App
I have bee on Macadam for 9 months and I have been logging my steps and collecting coins daily. My step count is high but compared to some other walking apps the pay was really bad so I was logging intermittently. The app has rapidly improved and is now going in the right direction as there are levels and leagues. If you are a pay for free person please not that you have to get to silver status to get any money out of the game and at Silver you can only withdraw via bank transfer which is on an allocated day. I mean what the ….. I really appreciate the recent changes but new users please note it’s not that easy to get rewards quickly unless you work the system. It has taken me 10 months of solid walking to get to Silver and the app still needs you to log in at a date and time to get your rewards out via B transfer. THE APP LOOKS GREAT THOUGH IN TEEMS OF GRAPHICS ITS THE BEST OUT THERE.

Better than Biscuit
Was on the Biscuit dog walking app since it started, however they started trimming bits off and charging more for it, so decided sadly to call it a day. Someone pointed me towards Macadam as an alternative, and I’m glad they did. Has great features, isn’t pushy and a great incentive.
Only drawback is it’s going to take a while to get to silver, but that’s all part of the motivation they provide I guess! 5 stars from me.

Ad watching app
After 50 days I have 13,000 coins, yet you need 45,000 for £20. Unless you play games or do surveys, you won’t be able to cash out for a long time. Ads now play when I validate my steps even when I don’t click double my coins (I don’t click because sometimes the ad plays but then it says I can’t have the extra coins due to an error). The slot machine freezes half the time. Challenges have ramped up to “play two new spots” which is hard in a small town. App also drains your battery.

Quite a good app tbf
I can't even lie it's that good of an app I don't think I have any complaints. I've been encouraged to walk more and more recently just because of this app and the fact that it combines play and win type content with spin to win and walk to reward and more in one app just eases my life knowing I don't have to have 20 apps to enjoy a good buck and having all of them convert into the say Coin makes enjoying the app and gaining the rewards a lot quicker would recommend x

Edit: I have received a message asking my contact support but it’s still telling me that I need the latest update but I have not got the option to update so it’s useless and you obviously didn’t read what I wrote previously 🤬
I tried to report 2 glitches on the slot machine but the bot told me that I needed to update to the latest version so I went to the App Store and according to that I am on the latest version because it only says open and not update!!! If the glitch keeps happening then I will delete this app which is a shame as I am enjoying it apart from the glitches!!!! If the glitches are fixed then I will update my stars!

Great but I’m reviewing because I can’t contact support
Great app, been using for a while now. But Jackpot Express is broken and Support are broken! Since the last update Jackpot Express is only working 1 out of two goes. First, watch ad, play. Second, watch ad, button doesn’t work. Will work on third attempt, not on fourth. I tried to contact support about it through the “send us a message” option, but it says I’m using app version 8.6.1 and can’t use support chat until I update the app. I’m using version 8.9.0 according to the App Store. I cannot find an option to contact support through the app website.

Awful withdrawal system and worse customer service
Used Macadam for over a year finally reached a £30 balance, I waited for the 9:30 advertised slot and attempted it twice at 9:30 but both attempts produced an error, support then blamed an earlier 9:28 click despite there being no rule stating that clicking before opening time would affect withdrawal, I was then told to wait another two weeks.
Even more frustratingly, support told me if I fail after the required attempts “we will make sure to find a solution for you” I did fail because their own system errored, contacted support for the solution and this is apparently try again in two weeks and then we can help you, why not today?
I also use We Ward another walking app and their withdrawals was simple and instant, Macadams excuse was “we have lots of users” so do many other apps and they manage just fine, after a full year of using macadam this was a terrible experience and an awful way to treat a regular user, Terrible withdrawal system and even worse customer service.

Trustworthy and Not trustworthy
The apps that pay you to walk is not something that you should trust immediately. For apps like these it would take you atleast a million steps to actually earn a few measly cash
Easy to earn points but unable to redeem the points
It is no doubt a good app for earning step points, but without a good way to redeem those points, they are all useless.
jackpot
the jackpot machine is broken. cant even skip some of the ads (especially the atlas earth ones) and even if i do get a skippable ad sometimes it doesnt let me press the button to get the reward and the screen is just frozen unless i close out and reenter the app.
Almost Perfect
I love the design and simplicity of the app. Using it feels cozy and simple and the Macadam Spots encourage me to explore new places and change my routes. The events are awesome as well and provide a fun goal to work towards by collecting event items on the map.
I have a few issues and suggestions that I would also like to share. Firstly, the map feature does not seem to automatically pick up coins even when the app is open which is a bit frustrating since it causes me to be looking down at my phone more than I would like. Secondly, I am an inline skater and unfortunately inline skating barely gets counter for steps compared to walking and running. It would be awesome if there were ways to get steps for other activities like cycling, skating, etc.
Overall I really enjoy the app. It encourages me to get outside more and makes me feel rewarded for doing so.
