Dark mode iPhone.
New version is not displaying user inputs when iPhone screen mode is set to dark. Changing screen mode over to light solves the issue. A bit annoying. Handy calculator π
Needs material database
Would be awesome if the materials database with specific cutting forces was included as per the individual milling, turning and drilling apps. Why have 3 apps when this one could do it all!!
A lot of information in easy to use app
I have been using this app for about a year. I use it relating to training I do with machinists and machine operators. It is one of the simplest for people to understand while having enough information to do quality comparisons of cutting conditions.
Examples,
MRR - metal removal rates calculation (helps qualify if a new machining approach will actually save you time before experimenting)
HP - horsepower calculations, allows you to know roughly what power you need to pull a certain tool. Very handy when working with light duty low HP machines. (this part does require using a Chart Sandvik has on their site for material hardness (specific cutting force βkcβ)
Chip Thickness - quickly calculates adjusted chip load for milling cutters weather having an angled insert (face mill) or taking a light side cut.
All needed data is easily input in this app.

Not useful to the noob
Was looking for a replacement to my old Sandvik slide calculator, but the app requires me to know way too much, which I don't. If I did, why would I need this?
Bring back the previous version
I've been using this for 3 years. It's been very helpful for me.
The previous version is faster and much easier to use compare to this newer version.
The selection box is too small and make it very hard for the user.
Since my work required me to deal with metric system. It will not change permanently though you have change into metric. I personally think that Sandvik should really consider to improve this.

Ios8
When are you going to update this app, doesn't work since the ios8 update. Thanks.
MrPicky
Great app. Would like to see materials and the Kc values to help with power calculations.
Great for productivity
If you want an app to help with improving your productivity, this is it.
Great for beginners, not for me
It calculates feed in ft/min. ALL machines feed inches/min. Also doesn't give chip load. Still better off with a calculator than this.
Does not work on iPad
Loaded the app but it does not seem to work. All I get is the results screen with no way to enter values and calculate. Too bad!
Great stuff
Fantastic help at the machine
Love it!!!
My calculator only shows my last entry. Here I can see everything I need and see what effects changes may have before I make them. Typical Sandvik perfection!
Don't know.....
It's been several days now & app still crashes everytime it's opened
Not work!
Not work in iPod touch!!!!
Crash
Crashes on iTouch OS 3.0
Great before update
Being a Sandvik distributor I loved and used this app until I updated. App crashes upon opening. This comes after a week of recommending it to every customer I saw. Please fix soon!!!!
Disappointed
Not bad, it has it's use. If Sandvik really wanted the WoW factor, then it would have speed, feed, rpm and other machining related calculators.
Good tool.
Takes a small while to get used to but it's a very useful tool. More suited to CNC machinists than manual men like myself. I rarely use more than the top four gears of my lathe and my milling machine soon tells me whether it agrees with my choice or not!!
Great first try
Great for free to us but this cost Sandvik a bunch. The calculations need to transfer to the fields in the comparitor to change your variables in the present as a double check on what you are changing. Great freeby. Could be programmed with more skill.
Machinist
Great app, very useful.
