Waste of energy

This app actually blows and paying for the premium does nothing for you

Mid

After further use , many locations don’t have portions or have incorrect calorie amounts.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Take a look at our latest update which brings in the ability to enrich an AI estimate with portion photos

Minimally helpful

If you spend the $13 to unlock the app you will be gambling with your money. There is no reference to sizes (ie 16oz vs 24 oz), once inside a restaurant you have to endlessly scroll because there is no search feature for the menu, and the estimations are widely inaccurate since the designer has no knowledge of the portion sizes. This is the equivalent of an AI generated person with 3 arms…. Free / ad supported design I can get behind.

Hey thank you so much for this feedback! I have just submitted an update with both of your requested features: you can now search within menu items (you can also sort by protein, cals, carbs and fat). Additionally, you can refine macronutrient estimates with provided context. Context can be textual or photos! Snap a pic of a large portion and get new macros. Thanks so much for your feedback

Easy as 1-2-3

Simple, well designed, I use it daily to help me make a more informed decision around where & what I’m going to eat.

Must have

If you take your nutrition seriously but you maintain a social life - you absolutely must have this app!

So perfect!

This app is the perfect companion when eating out and trying to have a sense for the macros of different menu items. I track fairly passively but I still love knowing calorie counts when looking at a menu. A must have for anyone taking nutrition seriously!

Rating

Poor, it’s a cool concept but it doesn’t display portion sizes I think it’s just based off an ai formula basically just more ai slop

Hey! Developer here. As noted in the app itself, the macronutrients are a lighthouse, not a source of truth. You are correct that they are AI estimates! That said, the prompting and mechanic for making the estimation does factor in average restaurant portion sizes, use of cooking oils, etc. So with that in mind, they are a helpful metric in determining directionally which dish is best fit for your macros. I hope that clears it up! I am a solo developer, a 1 star review is crushing. Best, Sawyer

MacrosMap Rating

I believe this app has good promise and can be great but unfortunately as of now it’s behind a paywall with two options to choose from. The menus for restaurants near your location also only have 1/3 of the menu most of the time. This app needs more marketing and it could go global for sure but like I said as of now it’s not there.

Hey - thanks so much for your review! One star is a crushing blow for a small app like mine. We have over ten thousand menus indexed in Macros Map, the large majority of which carry all menu items. Gathering this data requires I run an elaborate scraping pipeline that is certainly prone to errors. I am continuing to iterate and improve on both the app and data set - hope you’ll consider giving it another shot!
