good content awful application
Still showing big black bars at top and bottom of the screen in 2021…they haven’t bothered to update their app which I think just sums up the lack of quality and interest from the developer. It’s a shame because the content is always good. Basically it’s just a badly formatted pdf with no interactive content.
Updated 2024 - yep, those big ol’ bars are still there. Frankly, this is an appalling application which does the mag no favours, mind you for UK readers, the mag is very much US centric anyway. The UK based MacFormat mag is much much better.

Stop asking for feedback
Asks for App Store rating and review in spite of this being disabled in settings!
Locks up and buggy
For some reason the last update has made it where it does not recognize when tap on it to open the mag. It just hangs up for a few minutes and then finally opens. I once had to delete it and reinstall but it still does the same thing intermittently. I use like the digital version especially the previous revision but now not so much.

App fails to load
I tried subscribing, only to find that the app will not open on my iPad Pro. Cancelled my subscription.

There are many places to get info on big red. But Macworld has been at it the longest. The writers true red Apple fans but they don't hokd anything back if they have a problem with the latest gadget or moves by Apple.

Mac Essential....
This is an essential magazine for the apple user. Gives you all the latest up to date developments from apple. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I preferred the original layout. Down to personal preference.
Not as good as the paper version
There seems to be much less content compared to the paper version and not keen on the layout. Having said that, the content there is, is of a good standard. I doubt I'll be renewing my subscription unless things pick up.
Basically a newsletter
I am a subscriber for this magazine for about 4 years and I used to love it, until it stopped publishing the print version and changed the layout of the online version. It is now basically a plain newsletter, not a prestigious great magazine anymore. The new format is so boring that I decided to stop my subscription.

Best Apple Magazine period. Very informative and useful
Good content, but not enough of it
Compared with the paper magazine, there is about a third of the amount of content, although what there is, is good stuff.
Also, the quality control seems to have dropped, with many typos.

Content is great. Hating the new layout
Loved the old layout because I felt like o was reading a magazine.
This new one is just pages with large font and the occasional picture. It's almost like reading a webpage on safari with reading list.
I have both but MacFormat has a much more pleasant reading format and plenty of links to take you to products.

Great mag I am sure, if it ever finishes downloading
The server download is so slooooooow that I could walk to the newsagents and back quicker. But wait... there isn't a print edition anymore. Macworld is doomed (-:
Awful
Doesn’t deserve 1 star. I’m a long-time subscriber and the dumbing down of the latest version is daylight robbery. More like a succession of powerpoint slides than a properly designed and laid-out magazine. As for the 18 hour download time on IOS 9 - speechless. I want my money back.
Subscription terminated
So they've abandoned print for digital only. Except I can't download what I've paid for with iOS 9! Fortunately last issue before renewal so subscription terminated forever. They should be ashamed.

I also get incredibly slow download (over an hour to download 1 issue. Hope they sort it asap. Expect a mac magazine to work with latest iOS
