M.A.D.: Nuclear Duel
ICBM duels and a living world
About
What's New in M.A.D.
1.2.0
October 9, 2026
The biggest update since launch: railways, living politics, and the full navy and air force. THE LIVING WORLD • Railways: from the industrial age, nations lay double-track lines with stations, viaducts and freight trains. Their armies take the train. • Supply: far from its stations, depots and headquarters, an army slows down, fires less and cannot refit. It eats its nation's food, munitions and fuel: run short and it wears away. The stations behind the front become targets. • Living politics: every town judges its rulers and says why. Leaders, networks, informers, purges, uprisings, coups, exiles founding free towns. New power: Agitator. • Regimes (monarchies, republics and their elections, juntas), rulers marked by their reign, taxes. • History: dynasties, renown, mottoes and banners, a chronicle by kind, feats kept from one game to the next. • Ages of the world (golden age, dark years, the Great Fear), industrial disasters, disarmament conferences. • Several wars at once: the one you watch is fought unit by unit, the others on the map. A world map with the fronts. • Culture, diplomacy, politics and opinion maps. • The distance between towns can be set, even during a game. AT SEA • Attack and missile submarines, sonar and depth charges. • Weapon ranges (rockets 4 km, silo missiles 12 km) and port blockades. • Aircraft carriers: an airfield at sea, with its fighters and attack aircraft. • Shipping lines, a ship for each kind of load, pleasure boats, wakes. IN THE AIR • Ground attack aircraft: they support the front with rockets and gun on tanks and battalions. • Aircraft ranges, fighter escorts, gun dogfights. AND ALSO • Every menu option explained, menus redone for phones, a clearer war bill, loading without freezes. • Big wars sound right again: no more crackles or cut-outs.
