What's New in Magic Spellbook

2.4

August 27, 2026

Thanks for using Spellbook! Here are some of the new features and fixes in this version: Smarter Card Scanner The card scanner now tries to identify the exact print you've scanned. When adding cards to trades or a list, you can still correct it if it didn't get it right. New Swipe View Try out the new Swipe layout to swipe through search results one at a time. Better Search Suggestions Spellbook is smarter about reading what you've entered for your search, and can give you improved suggestions. Manual Price Adjustments You can now manually adjust the price for any card in a trade or in a list. Bug Fixes and Improvements - Choosing a print for cards with many prints, like basic lands, is now much smoother. - You can now save and load trades as a list. - New and unknown card languages are now supported, so cards printed in new languages will appear without needing an app update. - The Control Center widgets to open the search page and scanner have been fixed and are now working again. - Many other minor improvements have also been made.

A small tip. Thanks :)

User reviews

Scryfall Rate Limit

Went from perfectly functional to rate limit pains to now locking up / displaying nothing after selecting a card from the search results.

Probably moving to a new app after using this for years

Response from developer

Scryfall recently implemented tighter rate limits. I recently submitted an update to mitigate this, and am still working on improving the situation more. Please look out for another update soon. Update: Please try out the latest update and see if you still have issues! If not, I would appreciate it if you’d update your review. Thanks!

So helpful!

Great app, someone at my LGS showed this to me to better help organize my cards and help me compare prices to find my chase cards! Super recommend for folks who want to interact with the hobby in a better way!

Amazing!!! The #1 MTG app

Hands down this app is the best I have ever seen for a MTG player I highly recommend it

Absolute unit

Really great design and the random card viewer is a lot of fun but started crashing a lot when I created large lists for deck rough drafts. Would love to try and help debug as a fellow developer however I can

Response from developer

I appreciate the kind words!! Keep an eye out for the iOS 26 update coming out very soon!
