Really ?

Games good but why can’t I get out of the tutorial without the server crashing and having to restart, just dumb

Outdated and boring.

You have to spend a lot of money in this game to be competitive and the hand draws and matchmaking are ridiculously bad.

If you finally make it far enough in the ladder you will come across the same 1-3 overpowered meta decks which is just boring.

Broken

Hackers. Galore

Want to love it but it’s impossible

What a complete disappointment.
This game is genuinely fun, which makes it even more frustrating to see it ruined by what feels like a terrible algorithm that's more focused on squeezing money out of players than providing a fair experience. The gameplay increasingly feels designed to push you toward spending instead of rewarding skill or time invested.
The developers are just as frustrating. They'll reach out acting like they want feedback, but when you actually take the time to provide detailed, specific examples of the problems, they suddenly go silent. Instead, they tell you to post everything on their forum, where it feels like complaints are just sent to disappear instead of being addressed. If you're going to ask for feedback, at least have the decency to engage with it instead of passing people off somewhere else.
This game had so much potential, but poor management and questionable design decisions have completely overshadowed what could have been a great experience.
Can anyone recommend a similar game that's actually run by developers who care about fair gameplay and listen to their community? I'd rather support a company that values its players than keep wasting my time here.

Child hood game

This is on another level from my days as a kid playing so much fun

Pitiful!

MTG Arena is a polished-looking dumpster fire that somehow manages to make Magic less fun, less social, and less creative.

Magic: The Gathering was built around interaction. Arena strips that away and replaces it with a handful of childish preset phrases, as if players are too fragile to handle normal communication. No real chat, no real social element, no personality. Just silent games against people spamming the same lifeless decks.

The so-called “trading card” element is barely recognizable. Wildcards make it easy for players to skip creativity and grab whatever cards they need to copy the latest leaderboard deck. Rarity loses meaning, originality disappears, and the ladder becomes a parade of the same predictable net-deck nonsense over and over again.

The timeout system is one of the worst parts of the app. It gives sore losers an easy way to waste time when they know they are beaten. Instead of fixing the pacing, Arena lets petty players drag matches out like children throwing a tantrum.

The RNG and matchmaking feel laughably bad. One game gives you no mana. The next gives you nothing but mana. Then, after several losses, the game conveniently hands you a weak opponent or a match that feels rigged in your favor. It does not feel competitive. It feels manipulated, repetitive, and dull.

Arena takes a brilliant card game and turns it into a soulless grind full of copied decks, fake interaction, bad pacing, and matches that too often feel decided before they even get interesting.

Magic deserves better than this app

Too pay heavy

It costs to play the card game as much as yu gi oh duel links for a game that could sell just cosmetics

Algorithms suck

It is magic on bad algorithms. They admit it in the small print and use a different or more advanced one for the tournaments you pay for, however, can still be manipulated like the other formats.

Rigged

Game is completely rigged to farm as much engagement from the user as possible. Awful awful design and ofc made by juice

Bad algorithm

The mana algorithm is broken. Unfair and jaded.

U should do a collaboration with dragon ball

I love this game j love marvel but what i love better than marvel is dragon ball z i think that dragon ball being in this game would be insane imagine how many cool decks u could build with people like Goku or vegeta

Replay system

I’m new to magic and this game has made it very easy learn the game. I’m a TCG vet been playing TCGs since a child with yugioh & stuff. Before making the move to finally play MTG I played others like shadow verse, hearthstone, Pokémon, etc.. one thing I do wish was in here is a similar replay system like shadow verse. I play on pc most of the time but also play on my phone when I’m on the go & when I get dope wins while mobile I can’t see it. Uplay & other things are cool but the replays don’t truly show how the games played out. It would be cool to see a more integrated replay system within the game.

A money Grab. 0/10

If you wish to play magic, stick to in person. Unfortunately, this game does not use a random number regenerator at all for card draw. It is a manipulated game and is not a true traditional shuffle and play game. This makes the game integrity very questionable. Players are constantly bombarded with payments prompts, and that doesn’t even start with the gameplay. One of the worst renditions of a card game we have ever reviewed. We can not recommend this game. 0/10

Poor Gameplay Design

Was once a great game.

A turn-based strategy card game where you utilize limited resources to attack an opponents life.

Sounds great, until the game design introduce multiple infinite loops in the game that effectively give unlimited resources.

Poor gameplay design.

Don’t waste your life

Go play at a store where it’s more fun

Yo ignore this-made in anger from losing

I lose a lot

Constantly putting out updates instead of fixing anything

The week before and during July 4th have had 4 separate patches to download but yet the game crashes at least every third match claiming no internet while my internet connection is fine please fix the severs before releasing bs

Nice game

Started playing due to a friend, instantly hooked.
A little more complicated than Pokémon, still not bad.
Also pretty nice that reward gives you actual up to date cards with no purchases necessary

CREATORS OF GAME CHEAT PLAYERS

The creators will chose which cards you draw to sway the odds in whatever player they wants favor. They cheat. Who knows what they do in mobile tournaments.

Congrats on ruining one of the best card games ever created. Inbreds.

This is not a true magic game. The shuffler is pre-programmed how they want the game to run. It’s not actual random.
