Paid Subscription Not Working

I have a paid subscription through May of next year but when my child tries to play anything it’s locked and prompts us to buy a subscription. Which it states would start in May of 2024 because we already have a subscription. Why am I paying for this if everything is locked? My daughter has been unable to play for the last few months.
