App seems to quit working

I have used this app for a number of years. It appeared to work great. Recently it seems to just quit updating. I have to delete and reload.

Great app

This solar cycle is coming to the maximum, and we will have lots of magnetic storms, for sure. This app is perfect to monitorate this activity. Thanks a lot!

Old data

Today is the third but the chart was last updated on the first. It takes 8 hours for a flare to arrive at earth. Not a good alert app.

FAQ

What does the Magnetic Storms app do?

The app monitors Earth's magnetic field and solar activity in near real-time. It uses data from GOES satellites and ground magnetic stations to display parameters like the Kp Index, solar wind speed, and solar flares. This information can help anticipate changes in the Earth's magnetic field and the occurrence of auroras.

What are the main features of Magnetic Storms?

Key features include monitoring the Kp Index, A Index, instantaneous solar wind speed, and the number of C, M, and X class solar flares. It also shows proton and electron flux, X-ray flux, and magnetic field measurements from GOES-16. The app aims to provide this information in a simple and intuitive way.

Is Magnetic Storms free to use?

Yes, the app is distributed for free. The developers kindly ask users to rate the app and provide feedback to help keep it updated. While the app is free, it does display advertisements.

What kind of information can I expect from this app?

You can expect data related to space weather, including the Kp Index, A Index, solar wind speed, solar flares (C, M, X class), and proton/electron flux. It also provides magnetic field measurements. This data helps in understanding and anticipating phenomena like magnetic storms and auroras.

Who would benefit from using Magnetic Storms?

This application is ideal for anyone interested in monitoring solar activity and its potential impacts on Earth. This includes individuals concerned about radio and TV wave transmission, potential blackouts in electricity grids, auroras, and magnetic storms. It's also perfect for those generally interested in space weather.
