Interesting Approach, but not ready
First, I’m not quite clear who this app is for. All the user profiles appear to be 27 yo and younger. While it seems to be marketed as a dating app, it’s weird that whenever anyone like appears, it comes with a headline that is extremely sexual in nature. So, is this a hookup app? I have no clue. There are no filters to use on the Explore feed, you just get whatever the app decides to give you. They seem to be refreshed once a day.
Second, there’s a significant lack of a profile setup. It’s two questions with only a few choices to pick from. This means I can’t see any useful information about someone else on the app, and unless a pic is shared in the Explore feed or to you in a chat, the profile pics are very tiny and difficult to see.
Third, you can chat with My MaiGe, but I haven’t quite figured out how it’s useful. My MaiGe offers up potential matches with a description and only sometimes a pic. But I have no way to act on those suggestions and can only ask My MaiGe to send an intro. Yet, I can’t confirm any intro is actually sent. And while My MaiGe says they will be added to my feed, they never are. One item to note is that My MaiGe will listen to my preferences in regards to who it offers to me in the chat, but again, no way to act on the suggestions.
Fourth, so far the only ‘users’ that have responded to me have been bots. I’ve reported most of them, but my guess is that the developers are keenly aware of this and behind these bots themselves. I spun up a new profile from a second device and was immediately approached by the same ‘user’ that had proactively messaged me on my initial device. Even though I was using a similar, though not exactly the same, pic on my profile as well as the same name, a human user would have realized pretty quickly that I was the same person. Not so with this ‘user’/bot. Also this bot was very into sending NSFW videos to me that I never asked for.
Fifth, your MaiGe can send intros on your behalf. Supposedly it’s watching your chats to learn from you (or so it seems), but it doesn’t seem to learn anything. In one instance, it even introduced me with a completely different name. So, the AI here can definitely hallucinate
Overall, it’s an interesting concept, and I could see this being a fun app to use, but it lacks a lot of bells and whistles that are sorely needed to make it a useable experience. Also, the seeming lack of any real users and only bots is concerning at this time.
