About
Mainstream sends data from one phone to another as an animated colour code. One phone shows the code, the other points its camera at it, and the transfer starts on its own. It works with no Wi-Fi, no mobile data and no Bluetooth pairing, so it works in airplane mode, abroad, underground or anywhere two phones can see each other.
Send almost anything:
• Photos and videos from your library, or a new photo
• Audio recordings
• Any file from Files
• Text, with one-tap paste
• A contact card
• A Wi-Fi network, which the other phone can join with one tap
• Your current location
Mainstream also appears in the share sheet, so you can send straight from Photos, Safari, Files and other apps.
Built for real conditions:
• A live gauge shows how much has arrived and the current speed, and whether the sender can go denser or should back off
• Error correction and a fountain code mean missed frames only cost time, never the transfer
• Pinch to zoom, tap to focus, or set focus by hand, including macro on phones with a close-focusing ultra-wide camera
• On supported iPhones, read with two cameras at once
• Payloads are compressed before sending, and photos and videos can be shrunk further with one tap
