Not Fair

I am very disappointed that the app does not make it clear at the beginning that payment is required before you can actually use it.
It asks for all your personal details, including your email address, and asks you to agree to different terms and agreements. However, only after completing all of these steps do you find out that you cannot access or use the app at any meaningful level unless you subscribe or pay a fee.
I do not feel this is fair or transparent, and this is the reason I gave this rating.

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry the sign up process wasn't as clear as it should have been. The app is included with a paid Makaton Membership and new users receive a 14 day free trial. No payment is taken unless you continue after the trial, and you can cancel at any time before it ends. Your feedback is helping us improve.

Really badly made app

I’ve been wanting to learn makaton and heard this app had a free part and subscription based upgrades. The sign up page was buggy and kept flipping me between a browser window and the app and Yet once you made an account you can’t access anything at all until you pay the subscription, under the payment button there’s a ‘find out more’ button that just opens to a blank email template without even the address for the app filled out.
I’m not paying for an app that doesn’t even show anything about it first, especially one with obvious bugs and glitches.

The Makaton App is included with a paid Makaton Membership and is designed to support members throughout their Makaton journey with signs, symbols, resources and events. New users receive a 14 day free trial, and no payment is taken unless you continue after the trial. We're also looking into the sign up issues you experienced.

Brilliant

The new app is fantastic and has made accessing Makaton resources so much easier. Being able to quickly search for a sign or concept in the asset library and instantly see the relevant resources, including videos and symbols, is incredibly helpful. It saves time and makes learning new signs, as well as refreshing existing knowledge, much more convenient. Less ‘clunky’ than using the Makaton Hub online.

Overall, it has been a really positive experience. The app is user friendly, practical, and a valuable tool for anyone using or learning Makaton. I would definitely recommend it to others ⭐️

So much from one app

This is amazing! I’ve been using it all day to look up signs and symbols I need. There are so many ready to print resources too as well as video recordings of not just signs but information, events, stories and songs too. I will be using this all the time especially the community chat forum to find and share ideas. Brilliant app.

New app

The new app is amazing! it makes it so much easier to find any signs I need or want to learn by simply being able to search what i’m looking for in the asset library and having all the resources come up like a small video and symbols. It’s very easy and quick to navigate and I have been using it loads since I’ve found it, Would definitely recommend!
