Best Mala App in the World

This wonderful app has greatly improved my daily Dharma practice through the “gamification” of Mantra accumulation. Amazing.

Developer is incredibly responsive and solved all of the important bugs that come from dealing with the ephemeral fast changing unstable underpinnings of the “reactive” Big Tech AppleMetaAlphaJS ecosystem.

Besides “letting go”, to deal with impermanence be sure to backup your Tangkha pictures / mantra correlations with iOS screenshot pix.

His web interface also lets you see all your mantras at a glance.

Just a timer with bell - the rest is unusably buggy - Do no trust it

This was a wonderful app that lost all trust for syncing your count numbers and your Tangkha pics. Don’t trust the new version. Find something better elsewhere.

Developer tries, but I can no longer recommend this app and can’t afford to waste more time testing and documenting the bugs.

It is now just a timer with pretty bells. Do not use it for counting your mantra mala numbers.

Latest introduced BUGS on editing text! And shrunk font size tiny

Incredible wonderful app has greatly helped my Dharma practice. But latest app introduced text editing bugs and made the title font for the mantras VERY TINY. Wish I could contact you and pay you to fix it

Highly recommended

Out of all the Mala apps I’ve tried this one is superior as far as I’m concerned. Works great with lots of customizable features. Had the basic free version for a year and that was great but finally decided to “splurge” and support this app that I got so much use out of and the premium features made me enjoy it so much more. So whether you just want the free version or are willing to spend a few bucks for the upgrade, this app is the one to get- don’t waste your time looking for any others.

perfect👌

does just what it’s supposed to do. no problems at all.

as a longtime buddhist with a dev son, i too bought the full monte. a job well done. 🌸

The single best Mala Beads tally/counter app I've found so far. Excellent functions.

Today, I searched desperately for a counter/tally app suitable for Mala Beads style counting. The functions needed for this, I think, are obviously alerts at targeted counts and auto-repeat/auto-reset functions with data for rounds/lap functions, with different alerts for counts and rounds/laps/target-completion.

Downloaded and tested more than 20 counter apps and more than half a dozen mala-like apps.

Other apps are found to be nowhere near the functionalities and customaziblity of this app. I can customize the count sounds and lap sounds. Very flexible counter text size and positions. Able to add/change my own background. History function. Almost whole screen tap area. Lock mode for prevention of accidental calling up of menus.

Amazingly, I don't need to buy in-app purchase to get a fully functional and very customazible app. That's all I need. I just need only one counter and don't need to syncronize across all devices.

That said, as a donation for the great efforts of the creator of the app, I just bought 1.99$ in-app purchase; which hopefully 😆 will give me using multiple counters and syncing across device, I think. With that I got, unexpectly, a few more color themes to choose.*[edit: sorry, the available additional color themes come intelligently from the colors from the chosen background photo, not from purchase 😁.]

Some customizable options need slightly steep learning curve, imo.

I'm using iphone 7 (ios 11.3) purposefully haven't yet upgraded to ios 12. So far so good. I hope the devs won't screw up the app in next updates 😬.

So far, the app crash once while writing this [while switching and testing the app], that's not good of course, but it doesn't make me to down vote from my five stars.

May be I'll update later according to my experiences with this app.

Awesome app

I was looking for digital counter and I thought it would look ugly and everyone would know that I am doing doing japa. This is awesome which counts mala and has got all functions to delete and count 108 times and vibrate when one round of 108 time is finished. Loved it ❤️

Good, but has some glitches. +Suggestions

Thanks for making this. Makes it very convenient to keep track of accumulations.

Glitches:
1) sometimes the edit button disappears in the counter editing section. This makes it impossible to reorder counters, or add/delete counters.
2) sometimes it becomes impossible to edit the Counter name field in settings, making it impossible to change the name.
3) The count history is glitchy. If you delete accidental click recitations, then it doesn't properly update the count, the history still implies that you have done the precious amount. Deleting a count lower than the most recent count doesn't change the most recent count in the history section, it remains at an artificially high number with a gap between it and previous counts. Additionally, once you've done this, the number reported in the history doesn't match the number in the Counter section.

A few suggestions:
1) make it possible to put the accumulation number on the bottom right of the screen so it doesn't block the background image. I use the background image as a visualization aid, so it would be nice to not have the number blocking the image if needed.
2) the "history" tab should update the time stamps more frequently. Sometimes it gets stuck saying "a few seconds ago" when really it was 10 minutes ago.
3) it would be cool, though not totally necessary, if the app projected how long it was going to take to complete a set accumulation goal based on the accumulation speed (which would be easy to calculate since they're already timestamped). You could even set a number for a session and it could estimate how much longer the session was going to be, like a updating count-down timer.
4) it would be great to be able to click the volume button to add a count, as many practitioners do accumulation while walking sometimes, and then you can keep the phone in your pocket and add counts without having to remove the phone at the end of a mala.
