About

Mana Trove identifies the exact printing of a trading card for Magic: The Gathering — not just the card's name, but which set it came from and which collector number it carries — in about a second, from your phone's camera. Most scanners tell you that you are holding a Lightning Bolt. There are more than a hundred printings of Lightning Bolt. MTGScan tells you which one. SCAN Hold a card in front of the lens. When the app is sure, it banks the card and you move on to the next one — no tapping, no shutter button. When it is not sure, it says so and asks, rather than guessing: a card it cannot place is flagged for you to finish, never filed under the wrong printing. Recognition runs entirely on this device. The card database ships inside the app, so scanning works with no signal at all. YOUR COLLECTION Every card you scan lands on a wall of full card faces. Sort by set, by name or by what you added last. Filter by colour, card type, rarity, finish and set, with a live count on every option so you can see how much you own before you tap. Mark copies as foil or etched. See what a printing is worth today. IMPORT WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE Already have your collection in a file? MTGScan reads CSV exports from Binder, Moxfield, ManaBox and Archidekt, and falls back to a generic reader for anything else — then tells you, row by row, exactly what it matched, what it could not, and why. Nothing is imported silently. DECKS Build decks from the cards you own. Every deck shows how much of it you actually have, card by card, and marks the ones you are missing. Pick a format and the card list narrows to what that format allows. See your mana curve, your colours and your card types. Deal an opening hand and take a mulligan before you sleeve anything up. PRIVATE BY DESIGN There is no account, no sign-in and no sync. Your collection is a file on your own device. Camera frames are read in memory and are never uploaded, never written to disk and never sent anywhere. MTGScan collects no data of any kind and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking of any sort. The only thing it ever fetches from the network is card artwork and current prices, and it asks for those by card, never by person. What's New in Mana Trove

1.3

September 24, 2026

Mana Trove 1.3 — a rebuilt deck builder BUILDING DECKS - Read a card's full rules text right in the add sheet: tap a result to expand it - Search by rules text as well as name, in the add sheet, your collection, the Add tab and set lists - Pick Main, Sideboard or Maybe without leaving the add sheet, and adjust copies right on the row - Filters now work when searching all cards, not just your collection - Paste a list into an existing deck with "Add from text" - Select several cards in your collection and add them to a deck in one go THE DECK SCREEN - Cards grouped by type or mana value, with collapsible sections, built for 100-card decks - Swipe to remove a card or move it between boards - A proper Commander zone. Imported decklists and precons put the commander there, and exports keep it - Format checks for deck size, copy limits, singleton and color identity. They flag problems but never block you COLLECTION & DECKS - Basic lands are always counted as owned in decks, so no more scanning Forests - Each card you own is counted once per deck, so a card on both main and sideboard shows you need two - "Show cards I need" lists what's missing, ready to share as a shopping list - A card's detail screen now shows which of your decks use it STATS - New nonland mana curve, land, ramp and card-draw counts, and your mana sources compared to your colored mana needs FIXES & ACCURACY - Fixed: "Open a file…" did nothing when importing a decklist - Scanning is more careful: when a card has several printings in the same set and the scanner can't tell which, it now asks you instead of guessing
