About

A manta ray breathes with you. Wings up — breathe in. Wings down — breathe out. That is the whole idea behind Manta Breath: one calm animal setting the pace, an ocean around you, and nothing to figure out. Manta Breath covers the full range from everyday stress to breath-hold training, in three parts: SURFACE — WHEN YOU NEED CALM NOW Tap the coral button and a two-minute guided settle-down starts immediately: a 3·0·6·2 rhythm with short prompts, the manta leading every breath. Quick tiles give you a guided body scan (about five minutes, one voice, no music), a seamless reef-sound loop, and "Call someone" — up to three people you choose in Settings, dialled one after the other until somebody picks up. Afterwards, log how the water is today in a simple mood logbook. BREATHE — FOUR PATTERNS, ONE MANTA Calm 4·0·6·0 for a daily reset. Box 4·4·4·4 for focus. Relax 4·7·8·0 for the evening. Pre-Dive 5·0·10·0, the relaxed breathe-up freedivers use. Gentle haptics mark each phase, so you can close your eyes. Every pattern has a short explanation of what it does and when to use it. By design there is no pattern with a shorter exhale than inhale — the app cannot be used to hyperventilate. APNEA — DRY TRAINING ONLY The classic dry exercises for freedivers, snorkellers and anyone curious about breath-hold: a Static Hold timer with a relaxed two-minute breathe-up and a marker for your first contraction, plus CO₂ and O₂ tables generated from your personal best and run as guided sessions — hold, rest, hold, with haptics at every phase change. Every session lands in a log so you can watch your progress. The Apnea section opens only after a one-time safety briefing, and a dry-only reminder stays visible on every training screen: never hold your breath in water without a trained buddy watching you. DETAILS THAT MATTER • Made for the dark: a full-bleed ocean photo, soft glass cards, a realistic manta — designed to be looked at, not just used. • Audio keeps playing with the screen locked, pauses cleanly for calls and resumes. • Timers are date-based, so a hold stays accurate even if you switch apps. • Respects Reduce Motion. • Optional: save breathing, settle-down and body-scan sessions to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes. Write-only — the app never reads your Health data. • English and German, including the spoken body scan. PRIVACY, PLAINLY Manta Breath has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Your logbook, sessions and emergency contacts stay on your iPhone. Manta Breath is a wellness and training tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you have a heart, lung or circulatory condition, are pregnant, or feel unwell during an exercise, stop and talk to a doctor. Breath-hold training in this app is for dry, seated or lying-down practice only. Made by Atoll — built by a PADI Course Director who has spent decades teaching people to breathe underwater.
