Negative things

🚫The idea of using the system keyboard instead of the app's keyboard is very bad and makes the app difficult to use
🐛When trying to take a photo in the app the camera quality appears to blurry, and a picture cannot be taken
🐛This app is honestly bad. It gets questions wrong and doesn't answer them correctly at all

Stay away

Absolutely dismal - will not accept input from a keyboard at all, only touch. And, the letter (abc) menu item does not present an onscreen keyboard to enter any letters either, so you are totally stuck without the ability to input letters to represent constants in your equations. It used to be much, much better, but with the Maple app’s new UI in the last few months, it has become awful.

Grateful

Thanks for helping me get through engineering. Before AI, this was the only saving grace for many of us. Now that im graduated and AI going mainstream I think its time to bid farewell. Goodbye and thank you!

Although, in many cases the Calculator is reliable and will provide accurate solutions where AI confidently makes a mistake. So, even in the age of AI, we are still here for reliability when you need! Thanks for taking the time to review.

Almost as good as a graphing calculator at many simple tasks.

It does what it’s supposed to do perfectly

I use it on my calculator and it works perfectly. Now he won’t solve equations but it will give you the steps on how to solve it as in-depth as you need it to do. The choice of how in-depth it goes it’s up to you.

Great until last update

After the recent update, the app does not work well at all. It takes a lot of time and at least 2 or 3 tries to “may” get a solution. Really disappointed, given that the app has been so helpful until the last update. Expecting a quick update from the team.

Advertised as useful, but useless in practice.

When trying to take a photo in the app the camera quality appears to blurry, and a picture cannot be taken.
When I go to my phone’s camera app the camera works fine and pictures are clear, so it’s clearly an issue with the app.
Cool concept, but ought to function as advertised.

Terrible app

This app is honestly bad. It gets questions wrong and doesn’t answer them correctly at all. What a waste to be honest

Would you please let us know which questions it has gotten wrong so that we can investigate further?

No support, no instructions, nobody cares

All the "help" function does is take you to the purchase page of their $x,000 math lab suite, with NOTHING on how this calculator works.
I guess I just don't know enough math. Their online 'support' wants nothing to do with you unless you're a paying customer.

Almost useless with the Iphone

Entering an equation by typing has been a frustrating experience, if not impossible, here’s why: no spacebar, no “:”, no “;”, virtually very limited punctuation marks. typing words have to be done with twice the effort because the default mode is the calculator pad (switches everytime we type a letter). Maybe app is not suited for the iphones which have very limited keyboard real estate.

Like the title says, any iPad app without landscape support is a non-starter

Help documentation missing

I want to differentiate a function of multiple variables with respect to a variable, equate it to 0, and solve it for the variable. Desktop Maple could do it readily. The Maple Calculator is difficult to figure out because of a lack of documentation.

Also, what’s the difference between the free and subscription versions?
