Good ereader alternative to Marvin 3
Hi. I just purchased the iPad app. I was using Marvin 3 and loved it. What I found very interesting about your app is it's a onetime payment and can connect to an OPDS server such as Calibre. One thing I really enjoyed about Marvin 3 is that it was able to connect to GoodReads. Is there a plan to add this feature in MapleRead app?

Best customization options
Lik others I was looking for a replacement for Marvin, and after a lot of research I think that Mapleread is the best of them those who liked all of the minute customization options Marvin offered. It has man options for margins, indentation, font size, layout, colour etc. and the ability to sideload user fonts installed on your phone. It also has great accessibility features in the form of a text-to-speech function that highlights words as it's reading and the option of choosing between any of the system voices you have installed on your phone. I've also been very impressed with customer support! Glad there's a reliable ebook reading app going forward.

Great replacement for Marvin 3
When set up my new phone I was disappointed to find that my favourite ebook reader was not available. After some searching and several trials I found maple read. I am quite happy with this new reader. It has lots of customization and it is easy to import books.
Very good EPUB reader.
Would be great if you could search through tags rather than having to scroll down.
My favorite eReader app
I’ve tried a lot of different ebook apps. I’m very picky when it comes to being able to customize the way books are displayed and organized. MapleRead is the only one I’ve found that does everything I want! It’s also very stable, and it’s easy to import my library from Calibre. The latest update seems to have fixed the chapter-reset issue (fingers crossed!), so that’s great. You can custom load fonts (very useful for those with dyslexia or other accessibility needs) and you can set the page layout in books however you want - including indent size, paragraph spacing, line spacing, and a ton more.
This update also seems to have made it easier to keep your place in a book across devices.

Flawed interface
I want to like this app. I’ve been looking for something to replace Marvin that is still actively developed and this seemed to be a good fit. However, there is a problem I can’t resolve. I’m viewing on an iPad mini 6 and when my library is displayed in portrait mode no amount of tapping on any of the books in the right hand column (of the 5 columns displayed) will launch them, delete them or even recognise that they are there. On a hunch I turned to landscape mode and the same books (now in the 4th of 7 columns) launch just fine so it’s not a content issue. This is annoying after spending £4.99 on the app.
Response to developer question: the problem I see is that the books in question don’t respond at all to a press whether it’s a long or short one. Using full screen mode only. If there was somewhere I could send it I could video it to demonstrate as I’m happy to help try to solve the problem.

We can't reproduce the reported problem. If you long press on the book icon, do you see a popup menu? Are you using full screen or split view mode? Have you looked at our online Help page (accessible also from within the app)? Email contact is also listed there.

Needs fixing fast
I sent a sample publication of the problem over 2 weeks ago in regards to this problem and it still has not been fixed.
I have used this app since October 2019. The last couple of weeks I noticed if you click on the asterisk in certain publications it does not take you to the footnotes and items that are in separate boxed in publications such as questions or links to take you to other items in books No LONGER WORK. Could please fix this. I just wasted my money upgrading to the new SE version thinking that would work and it’s the same problem.

No, we haven't received any email from you. Please email again. ---------- Aug 23, 2020: As we understand from what you said, the bug is specific to some EPUB books. Unfortunately, we can't reproduce the bug. It would be much easier to reproduce and then fix the bug, if you could send us one such example EPUB file. Would you mind doing this? As advertised in our app description, even though SE has more features, CE and SE have identical features (and bugs) as far as EPUB is concerned. We understand that you just want to get your problem solved by paying a bit more. Apparently, it didn't work out that way. But it's not supposed to work that way in the first place. In all likelihood, any EPUB bug is common to both CE and SE, as they share the same code base.
Menus do not work on smaller phones
Many of the options in the menus do not work on my iPone SE. For instance it is impossible to change the the tap options. Very few of the menus work in landscape mode on a phone.

With v3.3 of the app, the menus should display and work properly now on smaller iPhone models such as iPhone SE and iPhone 5s. Please confirm. Thanks.

Excellent app. I use it as much as Marvin. Give it a try.
Nice app
The User Interface is a bit counter-intuitive, but once I figured it all out, I found a lot to like. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a full-featured ereading app. It would be nice to have more control over margins and headers/footers, though. P.S. The new sync capabilities in 1.6 are a welcome improvement, but why a different app for iPhone and iPad?

Beautiful App!
This app keeps improving. They've added synching between devices and now sorting by author and series. Still my favorite reading app, especially since the last update.
I just switched to this app for reading my epubs and really love it. It has a lot of customization settings for fonts, backgrounds, layout, shelves, sets, etc. I tried the free version first and quickly bought this version. Well worth the money.

Feature-rich eBook Reader
This has taken over from Marvin as my iPad EPub reader, as it not only has a very configurable reading display (fonts/layout, etc) but has a number of ways of importing the books in the first place, including OPDS catalogs, HTML pages, iTunes and even the ability to run as a web-server on the iPad, allowing you to browse to it from your desktop then drop the files to have your browser upload them to the iPad.
Once there, you can view them in various ways - title/author/series/date added/date read - as well as being able to filter/search for particular strings.
It’s also under active development, with the devs having a presence on the MobileRead forums, so I’ve no hesitation in recommending a purchase.

Lots of good features
One of my favorite ebook readers with lots of useful features. It syncs well with calibre. Sadly it doesn't work on the iPhone. Hope to see more improvements in the future.
