Not to be trusted
For some reason map data is randomly lost. The map name will show in the map list but data is gone, 0.0 mb, meaning you might be in the middle of nowhere and find you have no map to navigate with. Lesson learned.
Beim Wandern immer dabei
Ich nutze Maps 3D jetzt schon seit vielen Jahren und mag es bei Wanderungen nicht mehr missen. I.d.R. plane ich am PC in einem auf OSM basierenden Tool und importiere die Route. Dann lade ich die Karte zur Route unter. So bin ich nicht nur bei schlechtem Empfang gerüstet, sondern kann energiesparend und ungestört im Flugmodus gehen. Mit der Aufzeichnung kann ich nicht nur nachvollziehen, wo ich gegangen bin, sondern sehe auch schnell, wo ich gerade stehe (zusätzlich zum Pfeil, der mir die Blickrichtung anzeigt). Sollte ich unterwegs umplanen müssen, ist auch das möglich. Und die 3D Ansicht hilft zusätzlich zum Höhenprofil vorab einen guten Eindruck von der Strecke zu bekommen. Die Anzeige der Höhe des Punkts in der Bildschirmmitte unterstützt bei der Entscheidung für oder gegen eine Abkürzung.
Insgesamt eine für mich passende und runde App.

I first purchased this app around 2013 for several cycle tours across Europe over the following years. I recently downloaded it again and impressed by the updates. Great app!

I’ve had this app for years, upgraded to the pro version. Fantastic for any off road/ maps without service.
This is by far the most reliable and useful hiking app I have used.
The ability to download maps for offline use is excellent — I can navigate in airplane mode and my phone battery lasts over two days.
The import/export functions are seamless: I bring in routes from other apps and then export them to Google Earth to review my journeys.
In fact, this app literally saved my life during a snowstorm.
I have successfully used it across South America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia, and it has consistently performed flawlessly.

Ich nutze Maps 3D seit etwa 10 Jahren. Die Karten sind überaus detailreich und genau. Karten von temporär genutzten Gebieten sind schnell geladen und können wenn sie nicht mehr benötigt werden auch problemlos gelöscht werden. Wegpunkte in verschiedenen Farben runden die Möglichkeit Hotspots zu markieren hervorragend ab. Für mich, die ich viel draußen unterwegs bin gibt es keine bessere Karte! Vielen Dank an das tolle Entwicklerteam!

Купил платную версию. При попытке импорта трэка, программа отвечает об успешной операции. На деле track list пустой. Бесполезная трата денег. iPhone 15 pro max, iOS 18.5
Lange dabei, immer gut, ein Preis - keine versteckten Kosten
Ich nutze Maps 3D seit circa acht Jahren, es gab eine Zeit, da wollte die Anwendung wenig weiter entwickelt und gepflegt, und wirkte ganz schön in die Jahre gekommen und für anfällig. Das ist vorbei, seit ein zwei Jahren läuft’s wieder super und wurde aktualisiert. Toll ist, dass man einmal bezahlt für die Provision, und dann beliebig Karten runterladen kann und mich versteckte Abo fallen oder sonstiges hat. Bei den Karten kann man zwischen drei Kartentypen im Wandermodus und Fahrradmodus wählen, es gibt verschiedene andere Kartenmöglichkeiten für Seekarten und City Karten. Ich finde die App super auch dass ich einen Track angeben kann und live sehen kann, wo ich mich auf dem Dreck befinde und wie viel Höhenmeter ich noch vor mir habe und wie weit die Entfernung noch ist, von daher fünf Sterne von mir.

A waste of potential
I have tried to love this app, but there are too many problems.
1. If you’re half way through plotting a map and you switch to another app, maybe to check a location, then when you switch back the app resets and you have to start again.
2. When you’re out walking, every time you open the app you have to reload your track and zoom to your location
3. I’ve just lost all my maps. I don’t know how.
4. Oh, there’s just too many to list….
I haven’t got time for this list. There are so many bugs. I picked it up this morning to plan and save four routes. Over an hour and a half later, I have one route planned, but the app is now not even showing the map. I can’t search for places because “they are outside of the map bounds”. I have no idea why it goes to fix it.
It’s awful.
The only thing this app has going for it is that it is capable of planning a walk. But if it takes two hours of pain to do so, it’s not worth it.

3D not working!
This used to be a great app. Not used it for a year or so, but it refuses to show anything in 3D, no matter in preview or with a downloaded map. Seems to fail to live up to its name :(
Really Useful
I find this app to be simple to use and it enables me to find all the footpaths in a new area as I love exploring patches of woodland that I see from afar. This app is invaluable in finding the way.
Can’t wait to try the offline routing upgrade as it didn’t have that when I first got it.

Excellent App
Besser geht es nicht
Nutze die App seit mehreren (von anfang an) Jahren. Zum Wandern und Radeln. Tourenplanung ganz einfach. Route planen aufrufen, mit dem (+) Wegpunkt setzen und Route rechnen lassen. Wenn diese nicht gefällt, letzten WP mit - löschen und neuen WP zusätzlich setzen und neu rechnen lassen. Super einfach. Was gut gefällt, bei den Radkarten sind offizielle Radwege mit entsprechenden Kreuzungspunkten vermerkt. Bei den Wanderkarten ist aufgrund der Farbgebung deutlich erkennbar, um welche Wegkategorie es geht es handelt (Reitweg…) Und, ganz ganz wichtig und bedenkenswert liebe Leute: >>Kein Abo<<
Und nun das:
Routenplanung am MacBook. Da die Hardware von iPad und MacBook ähnlich ist, versucht, die App auf den MB zu laden und zu starten und es läuft. Ein paar Einschränkungen mit der Maus- Padbedienung aber dafür das große Display. Karten laden, Routenplanung, Maßstab mit Klick auf +/- ändern.
Dann die Route in die Cloud und aus iPhone laden - ganz einfach!
Und nun das:

Great hiking map. Simple to use with all the hiking data I want. Track, distance, speed, and a chart of the elevation changes of the recorded tracks. Low battery use, downloadable maps and no data collection.

Nach wie vor die Nr.1
Die App bietet in den Kernfunktionen beste Performance. Nutze Maps3D seit ca. 10 Jahren und sie hat mich NIE im Stich gelassen. Wanderungen, Bergtouren und Fahrradtouren in Europa, China und USA. Offenes System mit flexibler Auswahl von Kartenmaterial. Durch den gpx-Im/Export hat man alles, was man braucht. Höhenprofilanzeige, 3D-Modus: Damit weiß ich relativ gut, was auf mich zukommt. Sehr exakte Standortbestimmung. Im Flugmodus hält der Akku zwei Tage. Die „neuen“ Mitbewerber Komoot oder Outdooractive können bei der Navigation nicht mithalten; viel zu viel Firlefanz, außerdem sind es freche Abo-Modelle. Ich wäre hier bei Maps3D auch bereit, für ein Update zu bezahlen. Die Programmpflege kostet ja auch ein bisschen. Dank an die Entwickler, das Programm ist genau der Mehrwert, den wir uns alle vom Internet versprochen haben.

Für die Planung von Wandertouren ohne Überladung durch Tourenempfehlungen und Bilder von anderen Onlineportalen, was mich eher irritiert.
Der spontane Wechsel von 2D zu 3D ist toll.
Wenn auch gewisse Funktionen seit längerem fehlen oder wenig erkenntlich sind (wie Integration von Wuerfeldeinpassafen oä) und auch besseres Kartenmaterial fehlt mit der Möglichkeit Routen an Wandermarkierungen abzugleichen oder auch Gipfel-/Hüttennamen noch sicherer abgebildet werden.
Auch wäre eine schöner einzusehende Statistik einer angelegten Route für mich ein Wunsch.
Alles in allem aber für mich ein tolles Tool, das mir meine autarke und Offlineplanung toll ermöglicht.
