What's New in Marea 360
3.2.19
July 21, 2026
Marea 360 rolls out its first major update since launch. Sea data, city guide, activities and shops are now fed live from the new consolidated backend — no surprises and much shorter waits. REAL-TIME SEA MEASUREMENTS The beach card now shows the OFFICIAL FLAG raised by the beach controller together with an ESTIMATED FLAG based on live weather (swell + wind + sky). A visual cue appears when they match and another when they differ. MORNING AND AFTERNOON SWELL New panel with the long description and the normalised Douglas scale for the two time slots of the day. WIND WITH CARDINAL DIRECTION Dedicated wind card with an icon based on intensity (no wind / breeze / moderate / strong / very strong), speed in km/h and cardinal point (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW). ACTIVE SERVICE CHIPS Showers, toilets, accessibility, pets, children's area, lifeguards, Red Cross, parking, beach bars, sun loungers… The card only shows what the beach actually offers, with Blue Flag and Q Tourism Quality highlighted when applicable. MODERN "COMING SOON" ZONES Beach bars/restaurants and water activities are presented as two new zones with gradient, large icon and a friendly placeholder — ready to plug into the POI catalogue when it goes live. IMPROVED PHOTO GALLERY Illustrated placeholder with the town logo when the beach has no photos yet, custom marea360 loader while probing, and in the list view no image space is reserved for beaches without photos. DYNAMIC CITY GUIDE The "What to see", "Gastronomy", "Experiences", "How to get there" and "Tips" blocks are now fed live from the new backend. New horizontal slider to switch between the user's active towns — the ones without published content hide themselves. Content available in 4 languages. REAL-TIME ACTIVITIES AND SHOPS Both lists now consume the real POI catalogue per town. The same slider appears here too: you instantly see which beach bars, restaurants, hotels, surf schools or car parks are on each beach you follow. PULL TO REFRESH Every main list (city, activities, shops) now updates when you pull down, with the platform's native spinner. STRONGER OFFLINE MODE New local SQLite cache layer that persists everything you've already viewed and revalidates it against the backend's last-modified date. With no signal, the app keeps showing the most recent info it downloaded. COMMUNITY FIXED Fixed a bug that made the feed always show sample posts instead of the real ones. New video upload with thumbnail + progress bar, image cache that speeds up second visits and a dual camera-button mode. When you leave Community, polling pauses automatically to save battery. NEW PROFILE SCREEN Authenticated user profile with a language selector featuring radio buttons, default map markers, right-to-be-forgotten and sign-out. Fully translated to ES/EN/FR/DE. REDESIGNED SIGN-IN FORMS Login and register with modern fields, external labels and a bold aqua focus border. POLISHED CITY SELECTOR The "Remember my choice" toggle is now an animated pill with a bookmark icon — active in Mediterranean blue with a soft shadow, inactive in white with a border. INVISIBLE IMPROVEMENTS YOU'LL FEEL Fix for the "Could not connect" error the first time you open a beach card. Main bar with a direct "New participant" action. Processing overlay for long actions. Blindaged against screen exits with an in-flight request. Thanks for coming along since day one. This release turns Marea 360 into a living app connected to the sea in real time.
