About

Mark is a comfortable place to write Markdown and to read it. A clean split-pane editor and a live preview, side by side, with the formatting details handled for you. WRITE • Split editor / preview with a draggable divider, editor-only, or preview-only in one tap • Markdown-aware editing: headings, bold, and italic styled right in the source, with nested code-block syntax highlighting • One-click fixes appear exactly when there’s something to fix — realign a table, renumber a list, reset a checklist, promote or demote a whole heading section • Paste tab- or comma-separated data straight into a table; paste a link over selected text to wrap it automatically READ • GitHub-flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough, footnotes, YAML frontmatter, definition lists, and callouts • KaTeX math and Mermaid diagrams, rendered live • wiki-links between your own documents, with transclusion to splice one document into another • Tables filter and sort live, right in the preview, and export straight to CSV, JSON, or Markdown ORGANIZE • Tabs for multiple open documents at once, each backed up automatically as you type • A folder of notes opens as a real, connected set — wiki-links, a table of contents, a sitemap, and a link diagram all resolve across it • A SITEMAP or SITEGRAPH on its own line turns into a live, browsable outline of everything you’ve linked together SHARE • Export a self-contained HTML file (fonts and styles inlined), tables still sortable, checklists still resettable • A separate export built specifically for email clients • Print or save as PDF with its own dedicated stylesheet • Share text or a file into Mark from any other app MAKE IT YOURS • Four hand-designed color themes with real light and dark halves, plus five more generated from any single color you pick • A literary serif reading mode, or clean sans/mono presets • Editor and code are set in Codex Mono, a monospace typeface built with dozens of programming and Markdown ligatures, so source code reads as nicely as it renders Mark keeps everything on your own device. There’s no account, no sign-in, and nothing about your documents is ever sent anywhere. See the in-app Privacy Policy for the full, plain-language explanation of exactly what that means.

What's New in Mark

1.4.2

August 27, 2026

New: ask Siri or use Shortcuts to switch Mark's color theme, light/dark/auto mode, or editor layout, or export the current document — four new actions alongside the existing create, open, search, and append. Clicking a tag or frontmatter value now finds matches anywhere in your open folder, not just open tabs. Paste from Word, Google Docs, or a web page and get clean Markdown automatically. New: ⌘D selects the next occurrence of a word for quick multi-place edits.
