Search within text file

I would like to locate words within text file

Simple and easy, but ..

A simple editor that’s easy to use.

It would be nice to have included:
• word-count,
• char count,
• internal markdown reference.

Other editors offer more, but if you’re after simplicity for quick and easy markdown notes then this could serve you well.
When markdown tags are inserted the text is automatically updated to reflect those tags.
The built-in preview is handy.

Of concern is the last update being 5 years ago, and feedback concerns have been ignored.
Both of these suggest that development has been abandoned.
For this reason, I cannot rate it more than 3 stars instead of 4.
The small improvements mentioned at the start would make it an easy 5.

Vote of zero confidence

I’ve just spent an hour using this tool to edit a local PRD document on my iPhone. Already I have had 2 very bad things happen. First, the text that I pasted and was editing simply vanished for seemingly no reason. After continuing to edit this document, I began to receive a loop of errors saying “could not save”. The scary thing here is that I could not get out of the message loop until I disabled mobile network to force my phone to only use WiFi. WHY does my network have any effect on using an installed app to edit a local file? Is it attempting to save/steal my documents by pushing it to a cloud server in the background????????!!! Highly suspicious and untrusting of this app after that!

Free, but….

Editing the documents are essentially impossible. Cursor jumps to end of document after pressing one key.

Simple enough but has problems with saving

I experienced several times that the text I just wrote was deleted by and “older version”. Maybe because a slow connection or something. But it’s very frustrating.
