About

Markless is a document reader and converter for iPhone and iPad. Receive content from Files, system sharing or an explicit paste, read and organize it on your device, then export results you can share. OPEN AND READ Supports Markdown, HTML, ZIP web packages, CSV, SVG, JSON and plain text. Navigate headings, change themes and text size, and adjust reading scale. HTML offers desktop mode and a local-script option. Network requests and external resources from documents remain blocked. ORGANIZE AND EDIT Search, favorite, rename display titles and organize folders. Light editing and Save a Copy are available for supported standalone text documents. Editing drafts stay on this device. Reopen the editor after restarting the app to recover a draft, or restore a separate copy from Local Drafts in Settings. Cancel discards the current draft. If the original changes, keep it safe by saving a separate copy. ZIP packages and files requiring relative resources cannot be edited directly. EXPORT AND PREVIEW Export segmented long images or A4 PDFs. Generate Word files with editable body text, or export tables as Excel files. Open native previews of generated Word and Excel files before sharing. Graphics in Word are images; text inside those images cannot be edited. Complex webpage layouts may change. Excel export requires a table. SHORTCUTS Use system Shortcuts to convert text or a supported standalone file to PNG, JPEG or PDF and return the output files. Conversion opens Markless and runs in the foreground. It does not automatically send results. ZIP conversion is not supported in Shortcuts. OPTIONAL ICLOUD SYNC Off by default. After you confirm its scope, sync original documents, required offline resources, display names, folders and favorites using your current Apple account. Sync needs network access and uses your iCloud storage. No separate Markless account is required. Drafts, Trash, thumbnails and export caches are excluded from Markless document sync. Disabling sync keeps local and existing cloud copies. Check each other device to confirm it has downloaded a document. LOCAL TRASH Explicit deletion of an individual local document keeps its content and required offline resources so you can restore a separate copy. The backup stays until you explicitly delete it permanently. Trash stays on this device and is not synchronized with iCloud. A restored new document can synchronize as an ordinary library document when sync is enabled. Deletion on all devices or received cloud deletion creates no recovery copy and removes existing local Trash records for that original. Clearing recent files and automatic eviction from ordinary history do not move files to Trash. LIMITS Individual files: up to 16 MiB. Extracted ZIP packages: up to 64 MiB and 2,000 entries. CSV reading shows up to the first 500 rows. Excel allows up to 10,000 rows per table and 100,000 cells per workbook; oversized exports report an error. Ordinary recent history keeps 20 files. Favorites, folder documents and saved copies stay until you delete them. Keep your own backup of important originals. Imported Word, Excel and PDF files cannot be read directly in this version. PRIVACY AND SHARING Local reading, editing and export work offline. Clipboard content is read only after you tap the system Paste control. Saving to Photos requests add-only access and does not read your photo library. No advertising or analytics SDKs, AI generation service or developer-operated document server is integrated. You choose each sharing destination. iCloud and selected sharing apps handle content under their respective policies.
