Horrible product

Stay away from this product if you can. Pathetic experience with the app and the product

Bad connectivity

Can’t use the camera because it refuses to join my network. I’ve followed the instructions on the website to remedy this and cannot once get it to function. Fix your software, it’s not worth the ton of money if you can’t use it

The Camera & App Aren’t Friends

I’m so disappointed in this product. I’ve had it less than a year and the app will no longer show the camera feed. I’ve reached out to support for help and never got a reply. The app glitched every now and then, which was annoying, but eventually it worked, until now. Also, I was kicked out the app regularly with no choice but to make a new password. I’m not sure what that was about. The app and the camera are NOT on the same page which makes it hard to depend on this app to work. So frustrating…

Great device, horrible App

The device is great and works as expected except their was some setup issues with the camera due to old firmware. However the app is horrible especially when both parents want to have access to monitor equally. The devices only work on one primary phone. That means things like battery and connection status is only available to one parent . It's as if they made this product for single parents. This app needs an admin mode for caregivers so that both parents and even grandparents have full access to all functionalities.

Different alarm sounds and intensity

Overall this has been the best product to keep me sane and make sure my daughters okay during naps and especially car rides when I can’t get to her as quickly although I do wish the alerts depending on the severity were louder and more intense the boot alerts for device interference while she’s kicking her feet and those notifications are frequent we’ve only had a couple of oxygen level notifications when her boot strap had undone itself in her onesie from kicking so we know she’s alright and just fix it but I wish for it to be a louder and more intense alarm so when we’re sleeping if the oxygen or BPM were alerted we’d know the difference and be woken up overall this boot has helped tremendously with PPA and is a great purchase

Poor UI experience

Can’t even get past the sign up screen. I sure hope this isn’t indicative of the rest of the experience or we may be returning and going to owlet.

App is horrible.

App is unreliable. App has issues with freezing for long periods of time. Video delay happens a lot, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes to go back to live video. Seeing how much this camera cost you would think the app would be functioning great but it’s not. I would not recommend this app/camera to anybody until upgrades are made to this app.

Bare bones

I really wanted to like this product/app. You can tell the product is high quality and works well, but it feels pointless given the lack of features in the app. Reviewing the events of the night isn’t very smooth. You have to scroll until you find something- a summary of the night would be far more convenient. It was difficult to see the numbers when my daughters oxygen dipped because you have to tediously scroll second by second. There just isn’t much to the app which renders the device a bit useless for its purpose.

App is bare bones

TL;DR: The app was clearly designed by someone who only spent 5 minutes to think of the most barebones features and not by someone who uses the product and wants to improve it. It needs many many more settings and tweaks in order to even become viable for use.

The app is extremely bare bones and Masimo should be ashamed of themselves for selling such an expensive product with little to no thought behind it.

The live audio monitoring is next to useless and there is no way to globally turn it off.

The face down notifications are (in my experience) always wrong But what is worse is that the alert sounds are no where near loud enough (even at full volume). They do not wake my wife or I up and we are light sleepers.

There is no setting to toggle, “hey I’m taking the boot off my child please don’t notify me” so when you take the boot off for whatever reason the app will annoy you that the boot can’t read the data.

When the battery is low on the sensor the app with ANNOY YOU NON STOP UNTIL THE BATTERY IS CHARGED. There is no way to silence or snooze this notification and it will drive you mad.

Unreliable; good idea poor execution with an app that does not have great connectivity

My Wi-Fi net work has a great signal, and I’ve gone through all of the troubleshooting; yet the hall, and the boot will not pair to the app, or with the Wi-Fi. My child is sick right now and just when I need it it’s not working. Unacceptable.

App need lots of work and upgrades

Need lots of work with app to keep up with owlet standards also need more notifications to be added low oxygen / high/low pulse

Disappointing app experience

The quality of the boot is great, and customer service has been helpful. However, I can’t recommend this product until the app makes significant improvements.

Notifications - there are almost zero notification options. The settings that do exist sometimes don’t work - for example, the room temperature notification settings return a server error every time I try to change them.

History - there’s no option to jump to a date or time. You have to continually scroll left until you reach the date/time you want to check. There’s also not a nightly/daily/weekly synopsis or sleep report.

Access for other caregivers - you can give access to another person, but again there are no customization options. For example, I can’t give someone access to the health monitoring but not the monitor. You also can’t easily activate/deactivate someone’s access. For example, if you have a sitter or nanny there isn’t a toggle to turn on/off their access. You have to completely delete them and re-invite them every time. I don’t necessarily want caregivers to have 24/7 access to our baby monitor, so a feature like this is important to me.

I’m pretty disappointed in the product because of the app experience. We don’t use it as often as I would’ve liked just because the app is so clunky. Feels like a huge waste of money.

Not what I expected

As a nicu mom that had the masimo in the nicu this does not live up to the real thing. Not that I expected it too but I thought it would at least alert if there was a drop in hr or o2. There is no way to change notification setting and it constantly says my daughter is on her belly but she isn’t. I purchased this in early June and the release date got pushed which was disappointing as the masimo team did not notify people that preordered for the July release. Please let update the app to allow us more ways to control notification/alerts with suggest ranges or have us control that option. It never alerted me of a drop in hr and I can clearly see it in history.

Solid but needs tweaks

For the most expensive monitor on the market I was expecting better. I absolutely love the live readings, and the setup and connection gave me no issues. That said, this thing must have notified me 50+ times that my daughter was face down when she never was. Second, while the silicone boot material is soft, it does NOT breathe well. My daughter runs hot and this caused her to sweat more than normal.
The vertical video feed is clear but the night mode sensor seems too sensitive. The audio seems broken on my unit. I have to max out the volume to hear anything and it sounds staticky. Also worth noting, the temperature sensor is measuring skin temperature, not core temperature, so while it’s a nice feature to determine overall comfort, it is not going to alert to fevers. The intercom function works but you have to hold the button down a few seconds before it activates. Using the intercom also causes the lullaby option to turn on automatically. The lullabies and white noise are a great feature but I want to be able to control the volume, it’s too loud at night.
