Awful Waste of Money
Renters on the app don’t reply, never had any success with finding a place on this app.

i’ve put an ad up four times already and no one has verified it. It keeps getting denied. I’m just trying to find a flatmate and they’re making it very difficult! I’ve used this app before and it’s worked wonders but my post which is just the same as everyone else’s post is not being accepted and I’m not sure why I’m following all the guidelines. I’m a real person. I just want to look for a Flatmate, why is it so difficult?

Not worth the money
Searches arent refined enough. I spent money to refine my search but loads of places on there are posted by inactive members. There also needs to be a age range you can select, as loads of the people advertising a place are only looking for a certain age range.

The app is really laggy and the upgrade is not worth it at all
Super useful platform
Really happy with my experience on this app, very well laid out and really appreciate the added security of finding a new housemate knowing that I have a degree of connection to them already.

I wouldn’t have been able to find my home without MatesPlace! I managed to find somewhere to live in London while still being in Australia. It is superior to other share house finders, it actually is user friendly and has a modern design and layout. The customer support team is also top tier going above and beyond. I recommend this app to everyone and wouldn’t use anything else!

lacking essential features
great as a concept, horrible in execution - ten quid for premium and I still can’t filter by age?? also doesn’t allow you to set your distance filter lower than 5 miles which is useless when you’re advertising in / searching for a specific part of london. on ios it logs you out every time you close the app, meaning you don’t get notifications when the app is closed - missed a potential housemate this way and now have another week of losing sleep in store. perfect if you don’t care whether you’re sharing with a 60 year old man or an 18 year old student, borderline unusable otherwise

Found a great flatmate
After a nightmare on SpareRoom ended up listing my spare room on here - have found a lovely flatmate, and having mutual friends is such a massive bonus!
Terrible app. Useless for searching.
Did not receive a single answer from posters despite messaging over 20+. From other reviews, it seems to be mixed in with spam messages that posters are bombarded with. There is no form of helping to push your messages up or give you visibility. Expensive and useless for actually finding a place.
Beware of scammers!!
I recently found an ad on here that I have reported to be fake. They asked for money prior to the viewing, and asked for a holding/security deposit and told me it would be held under the government led scheme, which of course was all proven to be a lie.
I’ve reported this ad on the app, for the user and the ad for the property to still be available. Nothing has been done.
Upon wanting to delete my account, it also says I have unauthorised access to do so. I feel like security measures need to be put in place, and some of the functions on this app are clearly broken - for me to be unable to sign out or delete my account seems to be a constant challenge.
I’d recommend using more reputable platforms to avoid potential scam adverts that seem promising, yet fail to pass basic security checks. I understand this can happen on any site, but for nothing to be looked into or done once it’s reported poses a massive threat to other genuine users online who are looking to rent a property.

Update the ads
Lots of posted ads have expired and yet are not deleted. If a person who posted it has not been active for weeks, why is their ad still up?

Pretty good app idea, but some really obvious UI flaws, some major improvements needed. Plus really annoying when I try to sign in with phone number, and it asks to remove the 0 from the beginning. Come on, just remove it automatically.
Not useful
I purchased a one week membership for £9.99 but I feel it’s been a complete waste of time and I’d like my money back. There’s zero options for people with pets and SpareRoom is much better in my opinion. Most averts when you try to contact them they haven’t been online for months

Only works if you are living in London - it doesn’t expand to other areas yet may do in the future…

Amazing app! User friendly, great housing options, and overall great platform. They are very quick with responding and are extremely helpful. Great way to find a place also that you trust.

Disappointing !
I paid for a subscription and it does not work correctly.
The search saving doesn’t work, the filter and the loading of the places is really bad, it is very disappointing !

Upgrade just to see the pictures
Ridiculous , you need to upgrade to be able to see, JUST TO SEE the pictures of the posts…
I understand if I need to upgrade to contact the hosts, but right now I only wanted to see if I’d like any of them.
