About

A timed test on Friday, and no way to know which facts will run out of clock. That is the whole problem, and a stack of flash cards cannot solve it. Cards can tell you an answer was wrong. They cannot tell you that everything is fast and correct except ×7, ×8 and ×12. They also cannot tell you about the facts that come out correct but slow, which are exactly the ones that fail under a five-minute clock. This app keeps a record of every fact: how often it was right, and how long it took. Then it says which ones need practice, and builds a deck of exactly those. TWO WAYS TO PRACTICE A six-year-old and a nine-year-old are not the same child, so there are two modes and neither is a setup question. Flash cards, run by an adult. Show the problem, tap to reveal the answer, mark it right or wrong, or mark it without revealing anything, which is faster than the cardboard it replaces. The app can read each problem aloud, so a whole session needs no reading and no typing at all. That one works in the car. Timed tests, typed. A hundred problems in five minutes, set out the way the classroom sets them: fixed count, fixed clock, no feedback until the end, scored in the units the teacher uses. The app draws its own number pad, so a child never meets the telephone keypad with letters on it. NO MULTIPLE CHOICE, IN EITHER MODE Recall is retrieving 6 × 7, not recognizing it among eight options. A child can eliminate implausible answers and scan for a plausible number without ever knowing the fact, and a test that allows that is measuring the wrong thing. So this app never offers a choice to tap. The answer gets typed, or it gets said out loud to the adult holding the phone. DECKS Addition and subtraction 1 to 9. Multiplication and division 1 to 12. The standard progressions are ready on first launch, so nothing needs configuring before the first round. Build your own as well: pick the operations, pick the operands, both sides and not just "the 7s". Name it and keep it. Any round's missed problems save as a deck in one tap, which is the deck most worth running twice. PRINTABLES A timed test at 60 or 100 problems with an answer key, a reward chart, and a certificate. The sheets are ruled the way a classroom worksheet is ruled, sized to fill the page, and the answer key is set in red so a hundred problems can be graded at a glance. Printing happens on the device and goes straight to AirPrint. Nothing is uploaded to make a PDF. WHAT IS FREE Both ways to practice. All seven ready-made decks. The problems read aloud. And the whole record: which facts are slow, which are missed, and exactly what went wrong in the round that just finished. The thing this app is for does not cost anything. One purchase, once, adds the rest: printable worksheets with the answer key, the certificate and the reward chart, any deck you build or keep, the badge collection, and the rest of the themes. No subscription. NO ADS. NOTHING COLLECTED. No accounts. No sign-in. No analytics. No advertising. Purchases go through Apple, the same as in any other app, and that is the only thing here that talks to a network. Nothing about your child is part of it. Nothing else is collected, because there is nothing here to collect it with. Every fact record lives on this phone and goes nowhere. Not to us, not to anyone, not ever. That is the design of the app rather than a setting inside it, which is why there is no privacy screen to go and configure. Built for elementary math facts, grades 1 to 5.
