What's New in Mathica by LearnWithSherlock

3.2.0

July 15, 2026

MATHICA's biggest update yet. As we know, it's simple math! NEW: MYSTERY BLOCKS Strategy mode is now a game of discovery. Golden blocks that pay double. Blocks frozen solid in ice. Something green that grows when you look away. Each one plays by its own rules, and it's up to you to figure them out. I won't spoil the rest. NEW: SHERLOCK'S NOTEBOOK Every block you discover earns a page in your notebook. Find it in the pause menu. Can you fill them all? NEW: FEVER MODE Chain 4 matches and the board catches fire. While it burns, every match pays double. DAILY CHALLENGE One handcrafted puzzle a day, the same for everyone. Solve it, build your streak, and share your result. Stuck? Retry as many times as you like. The puzzle resets at midnight, your streak is on the line! NEW: A WHOLE NEW FEEL Blocks now float above your finger as you drag and click into place on the grid. Every match lands with a celebration you can feel. Hand-painted block art, all-new sounds. ALSO IN THIS UPDATE • Interactive tutorials: learn both modes by playing them. They tell me this is hard. It isn't. • Combos and colors: chain matches to x3 or clear the board and your blocks earn a fresh new look • Share cards got a full redesign: show off your daily solves, attempts, and streaks • Fewer, better-timed ads • A big pile of fixes, including sounds after ads It's time to THINK!

Great Update!

Wow this new update totally changes the game! The daily puzzles are pretty cool as well that were added.

Very confusing, even though the tutorial tries to explain it to you

The rules are very hard to understand so you get three numbers and then you put the numbers so doesn’t mean that you need to use their numbers that you put on the board or can you play with the numbers that are existent? Overall, you can tell this was very well intention, but poorly executed.

Response from developer

You can use the numbers on the board, or place blocks yourself. The operations only work on adjacent blocks and in the new patch it is highlighting adjacent blocks so it's clear. Edit: I just made an interactive tutorial as well. Pause, and then top right there is a tutorial button. After watching all the videos, it will take you to an interactive tutorial. Hopefully this will help!

Cannot read or scroll the directions

I’m not sure what’s up

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback! I will start looking into this and fix it. Edit: Please do the interactive tutorial I just added. You can pause the game and press on tutorial on the top left for each mode. After the videos, there will be an interactive tutorial.

Fun, Needs Paid Version

I’m a big fan of Sherlock so I was excited to see this app be announced. Looks like a fun project, I’ll reconsider my score if a paid version without adds is released as they actually get in the way of what’s supposed to be learning/strengthening your brain.

Response from developer

I will start working on a paid version due to popular request. I initially thought the ads are so low that no one would be interested, now I know the tolerance for ads and style of gameplay differs between people widely. Also, I just submitted a new patch that reduces the ads. I'm fully transparent about the amount shown, so here are the changes. From every 3 pauses to every 5 pauses. From every 2 restarts to every 3 restarts. At 2000 points in Strategy mode and at 2500 in Speed. This new version should go live by tomorrow, so be on the lookout for an update. Edit: The ads are very minimal now, I would love to hear your feedback if it's still too much. You can message me on IG or TikTok with your thoughts as well.

Challenging, but rewarding!

This game was quite the challenge. It doesn't even register a score until you get to 5,000. At first I found it to be hard, but now that I'm over the learning curve, I really love playing and trying to improve on my time. Right now I'm at 8 mins to get to 5000, the creator "LearnWithSherlock" said he is at 5 mins and that's what I'm trying to beat haha. The no timer mode is also really cool if you don't want the falling blocks for a while. I start with no timer, and once I'm warmed up I go to classic.
