My favorite
I’m an electrical engineer that’s been working in the field for over 33 years. This has been my favorite calculator ever. I love the way you can graph functions parametrically and vary the parameters in real time. The ability to use a time variable to animate the plots is very cool. The first version of this I purchased for my Palm Pilot years ago, and I’ve bought several versions over the years. This is great for learning beginning to highly advanced mathematical concepts. I highly recommend this for any math or would be math lover!

Great!
This is a fantastic app! As someone who is versed in Mathematica and MatLab I find your interface and syntax to be just about perfect. I do have a few feature requests though: - One thing I need though which seems to be missing is the ability to shade below a graph to the x-axis but only between two given x-values. - I would like to have the ability to print all results in decimal only. - I would be great if “shift”+”enter” would creat a new line for a multi-line command.
EDIT: Unfortunately it appears this app has been abandoned by the developer. Two years without an update :(
EDIT: Now three years with no update.

Great alternative for mathcad on iPad
I’m an rf designer and I use this often to solve equations. Easy to use and straight forward.
Looked promising but incorrectly solves basic algebra
This looked like it had most of the features I wanted from similar pricier software, but sadly it doesn’t seem reliable. When asked to solve an equation which has no solution it will give an incorrect answer instead of saying that no solution exists. An example: asking MathStudio to solve “x = x + 1” for x results in it confidently telling you the answer is 1.

Hello, I have been using MathStudio a lot for a long time on iPhone and iPad as a super scientific calculator with quick and user-friendly direct access. I use it to write Math and physics lessons with examples in the process, so I immediately have graphs to illustrate, and I have a lot of text in the form of comments. It has always been sorely lacking the ability to export spreadsheets: - In text form (so without graphs and framed tables) - in pdf form, so with everything.

Be very careful, this gets the order of operations wrong
The app gets the order of operations wrong. For instance if I set y=3 and then ask for 1/2y, which should equal 1/6, it gives the answer 3/2. This would be written y/2, not 1/2y in all the journals I read. BTW, I am very experienced with mathematics, having a PhD in chemical engineering.
Used to be great
The app used to be great. Unfortunately it is crashing now very often by just inputting a single character.
For me it is almost unusable now.

Please fix contour plot for 2D and add contourplot 3D feature
I wish.. only wish they would fix contourplot for 2d!
Why ?
I would love to give this 5 stars but for the love of all that is good why did they choose to index lists, arrays, matrices etc. starting from 1 instead of zero??

Powerful but crashy
Its very poweful, great for solving problems and exploring math concepts. I love its ability to do symbolic math, and its easy to use interactive plots for 2D, 3D and animated time.
I only wish it didnt crash so often. Its the reason dont have confidence to use it often: one moment you’re typing a script, the next the app has quit.
To be fair desktop mathematica is guilty of this too, but not so often. Mathstudio crashes on my iphone 7 every 10 minutes or so.
Mr Pomegranate please spend some time on stability.

BEST APP ONFG
THIS IS SO DAMN POWERFUL
Good. But frustratingly broken in some crucial areas
I enjoy the ease of use and ui. I also like the purple colour scheme.
My main complaints are things that I think people looking for a powerful mobile math program are likely to be frustrated by:
3D graphing of vectors: only one quadrant is displayed, the coordinate system is unable to be changed, and the zero vector coordinate is not actually in a consistent position. Their 3Dvector plot function does not even work on the website version, so it is not a question of my misuse.
Roots of odd numbered powers: the graphing of these roots seems to fail to display the negative outputs values, thus annoyingly not presenting the full graph.
Stability is also not terrific.
All in all, I like the software for simpler things like algebraic expansion and the solving of polynomials, but would be able to love the app if I were able and I effectively graph 3D vectors in a way that doesnt have an abysmal coordinate system.

Wrong Calculation result !!!
Please try:
Plot((1+(cos(1/x))^2)^x)
Limit((1+(cos(1/x))^2)^x,x,0)
The result are different !?
Please update and fix this problem.

Es hat sich gelohnt!
Als Mathematikbegeisterter und Ingenieur bin ich von dieser App sehr angetan! Komplexe Zahlen und Funktionen werden abgedeckt, auch Fourier- und Laplace-Transformationen? Klare Kaufempfehlung!
Needs Improvement
For $20, I would expect much more from the app.
While the concept is there, the delivery is subpar with regard to documentation being clunky and the UI being sparse.
Example: try to search derivative in the manual... it won’t show up. But if you search Calculus, you can find derivatives.
For a math app, the UI being sparse is good for many reasons, but where it becomes a glaring problem is the math input.
There needs to be a “pretty math” input similar to the the TI NSpire where you can easily see your complex equation in standard form rather than just a complex line of parenthesis and carrot symbols.
When dealing with multiple polynomial fractions in a single calculation, this will get ugly very quickly.
Also, when I try to do a define via := logic, the entire app crashes and closes.
