About

Matinee is a watch-later queue for videos that follows you across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Save a YouTube link from Safari, X, or any app. Pull entire collections from Raindrop. Connect mymind and pull a space. Subscribe to YouTube channels by URL. Follow a subreddit. Paste any RSS or Atom feed — even a blog homepage and Matinee finds the feed for you. Mark something watched on your phone — your Apple TV already knows. ONE QUEUE, EVERY DEVICE - iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV stay in sync through your own iCloud account. - Mark watched once. The state follows you everywhere. - Search the whole queue by title or channel. RAINDROP, FIRST-CLASS - Sign in once with OAuth, pick a collection, done. - Optional #watched tag pushed back to Raindrop when you finish a video. - One-time unlock for Pro. No subscription. MYMIND - Connect with an access key. Pick one space, or pull the YouTube videos from all of them. - Finish a video and Matinee marks it completed in mymind — the same flag you would set there yourself. - A read-only key is enough to import; marking completed needs a full-access key. - Pro tier feature. YOUTUBE CHANNELS - Add a channel by handle or URL. Matinee resolves the rest. - Latest videos pulled from the public RSS feed. - Free tier covers one channel. Pro removes the limit. REDDIT SUBREDDITS - Add a subreddit by name, r/name, or full URL. - Matinee pulls posts from the subreddit's public feed and keeps the ones linking to YouTube or Vimeo. - Pro tier feature. ANY RSS OR ATOM FEED - Paste a feed URL — or just the homepage. Matinee finds the feed for you. - Parses RSS 2.0 and Atom, including WordPress and podcast-style enclosures. - Items linking to YouTube or Vimeo videos go into the queue. Anything else is skipped. NATIVE TO YOUR DEVICES - Share sheet on iPhone and iPad drops a video straight into your Inbox. - Select multiple videos to mark watched, move to Inbox, or delete in bulk — five-second undo on every destructive action. - iPad: ⌘R refresh, ⌘F search, ⌘A select all, Esc cancel, Space to mark watched, drag-and-drop from Safari, multi-window with Stage Manager. - Apple TV: focus-friendly grid, long-press for quick actions, watched state from your phone follows you to the living room. PRIVACY BY DEFAULT - Zero third-party analytics. - Your library lives on your devices and in your iCloud, not on our servers. - We don't run any servers, so we couldn't see your data even if we wanted to. PRICING - Matinee is free forever with Inbox and one YouTube channel. - Matinee Pro unlocks Raindrop, mymind, unlimited YouTube channels, subreddits, and any RSS feed with a one-time unlock. - Future sources (Vimeo) come included for Pro users at no extra cost.

What's New in Matinee

1.4

August 31, 2026

- A visual refresh across iPhone and Apple TV: one palette and one set of controls, drawn from the app icon. - Search now looks through everything, watched videos included. - Removing a source asks first, and you can undo it. - Empty screens say what they are actually waiting for. An empty Inbox, a source that has published nothing, and a filter that matched nothing are three different things. - The sidebar shows how many videos are left in each row. - Vimeo videos stay put — they were being removed for not being on YouTube. - Errors no longer hide behind an open sheet, and the Raindrop and mymind pickers show when they are loading. - Apple TV: focus starts on the first video instead of the search icon, the onboarding buttons are readable, and YouTube only comes up for videos that are on YouTube.
