Missing Text
Although this app, for the most part, is excellent, there are many places that the commentary is either missing (sometimes multiple paragraphs) or words are changed to mean something else. I know this to be fact, because my wife has book copies of the entire Matthew Henry commentary that has been passed down through generations and we read together every morning. This review is not to criticize, but to make everyone aware. it’s still a great commentary.

Lack settings menu
There is no settings menu to adjust the font or use night vision. In studying Habakkuk and Songs of Solomon I notice some typos but outside of that it is a great app in studying the Bible.

Excellent Resource
I grew up using Matthew Henry in my home. My parents had the complete hardcover collection of his commentary. I love that now I can bring MH in my pocket wherever I go to enrich my study of the Word. Especially with young kids at home, it’s much easier to open an app than pull out a large book for study. This app & its contents are perfect for my lifestyle!

Life saving
This man really was anointed with understanding from Jehovah God. I’ve seen the depth of many statements made by Jesus and the prophets.
This is a seriously beneficial addition to the library of a Bible student who really wants to understand what the Bible says, and who wants to follow the teachings of the Bible to eternal life and God’s new world under the king rulership of Christ Jesus.

Excellent overall with one flaw…
I love how easy it is to search by book, chapter, verse. The only downside to this app which is not a deal-killer but is quite annoying is that on my iPhone if the app closes or even times out, when I open the app my place where I had been reading has scrolled down considerably. I am still in same general section, but need to scroll up to fine my place which isn’t super easy as the commentary has a “wall of text” aspect to it.
Even so, I have used Matthew Henry on and off for pretty much 30 years.
Developer: Please fix the issue I mention above and I will be happy to increase to 5 stars.

Easy to use and reliable.
My thanks go to the developer for such an easy to use commentary. It saves me carrying my huge printed copy about with me.
Great tool for going deep into the Word of God.
I have used this for years to prepare Bible studies for myself and others for many reasons. But the number one reason is it does the job and a great one without wasting my time.

Excellent Value for an outstanding Commentary
This is one of the best Apps available. There is great ease of use and a faithful reproduction of the original. I have found one or two typographical errors, but other than that I have nothing to regret in buying this App. If you are unfamiliar with Matthew Henry and are seeking a commentary that runs circles around the modern fluff, this is the one you want. I have only experienced one technical issue with it so far; in the commentary on Luke chapter 5, the page will not go past verse 37 and there are 39 verses in the chapter.

The new dark mode has been unhelpful… Most especially cos i cannot change it and cant report it.

Awesome app. God gave this man so much wisdom. I love his language and that KJV was the main translation of his day. So many modern commentaries use the modern perverted versions. He is very clear and challenges readers to look up word definitions. Would not not to be without it. I bought 6 volume hard copy and always to have non digital materials. So handy and I use this more every day. It’s so addicting as a bible aid.

Great way to help amplify your Bible understanding!
This is my primary go-to when I find a passage in the Bible which is confusing or I just need more depth of understanding. It is very comprehensive and user friendly. I highly recommend it.
