Amazing app and great instructional material to learn how to play chess. Would be nice to have more puzzles or give the option to use own pgn to puzzle rush
No additions? No updates?
I thought this app was going to receive “frequent updates” and new features along the way. No update in over a year… I didn’t mind paying for the app initially, but now I’m kinda wondering why I did. I thought there would be much more to this app, or much more coming?? Does the developer respond??
Poor app
I had high hopes. I’m only on lesson two and the puzzles aren’t working.

Loads of fun and very instructional. I would give it 5 stars if the ‘easy’ match for playing a game was truly easy, but it’s not.
Commentary audio
Just wanted to share that it took me several minutes to figure out why I couldn’t hear Maurice talking after the latest update. It seems strange that the update made the default setting to mute his commentary during the lessons. Without his commentary you can’t tell what’s going on. It also seemed to say it was set to subtitles, but I didn’t see any subtitles.
Otherwise I’ve greatly enjoyed learning from this app so far.

Expand your mind
A great app for keeping your brain sharp. And you learn some chess along the way. Also, thanks for making the adjustment to make the clock visible in the skill builders on my iPhone 7.

I played a match against the easy level bot and ended up being able to capture black’s king.

I am not a chess player but this app definitely peaked my interest. Love the skill builder function to teach the basics. I feel motivated when Maurice trash talks me. 😂😂😂
Get this app!
I got this right when I started playing and it really helped me to see the entire board. The puzzles are great and skill builders are unique to chess learning apps. They are challenging in all the best ways. I can’t recommend this app enough if you want to improve your chess.

Insightful and hilarious
I’ve gone through many chess apps. Maurice is unusual in his ability to truly distill the essence of chess principles into a condensed format. Even if you’re a moderate to advanced player, there is something of value here. He is also undeniably funny.

This is the best chess app I’ve seen in years!
Drop everything and get this app, it is hands down the most fun you’ll ever have using a chess app. First of all, the skill builders are not only fast-paced action fun, they are completely original, you’ve never seen anything like these and - - they will turbocharge your chess. Once you play them and see how great they are you’ll be scratching your head wondering why in the world other chess platforms don’t use Maurice’s super training tools.
Maurice’s interactive reactions and the active feel of the app are a breath of fresh air, and it is smooth, perfectly responsive and snappy.

The sound doesn't work after downloading today. The app looks promising, but I can't get the sound to play
