MAY I - Digital Gallery

The Digital Gallery — Every day, the place inside a painting opens as a 3D gallery. Hold up your phone in front of a painting, and the docent begins. A wall label tells you the title, the artist and the year. MAY I tells you what the label leaves out: why the painting was made, what was happening in the artist's life, and where to look again once you know. Point and it knows Snap the painting as it hangs, frame and all. If the painting itself isn't found, the app reads the wall label beside it. Read it, or listen The story appears as text first. Tap the headphones to hear it in the docent's voice, and ask anything you're curious about, right there. Any museum, in your language In Paris or in New York, hear the story in the language you speak. Your museum collection Find museums near you and collect the works you've met at each one. Be the first to recognize a painting, and it's saved as your discovery. Stars you leave behind Choose a color and leave a star on a painting that moved you. Your stars gather in your own universe, and works by the same artist join into constellations. Every painting keeps a line from each person who stood before it, and you can leave yours. On days you're not at a museum Swipe through a masterpiece a day, with poems and quotes along the way. The paintings and lines you love stay in your collection.
