Mayan kept me playing

Loved the mini games detail was awesome kept me playing

Can’t do anything about the straw doll

Seriously so disappointed lately

Lacked an absorbing adventure narrative

The HOPs were fun, the graphics lush and the plot was gripping. But play soon became focused on securing objects to progress through the game, with only cursory attention paid to the Mayan people or their civilisation and culture through non-player characters, dialogue and plot development. To avoid any sense of cultural misappropriation, 21st century developers should be sophisticated enough now to recognise that they need to pay more than lip service to the historical context in which they set a game especially when the game is built around communities of actual peoples marginalised, decimated, exploited or vanquished by imperialism and colonisation. This doesn’t need to be didactic or tedious; other games have made more effective use of the diary/journal as a historical repository/archive, and more detailed exploration of the sets and discovery of objects and texts with NPC or primary character commentary on or identification/realisation of the objects’ or location purpose or function would make those sites more interesting and less banal. There was hardly any character development at all, which was disappointing, because affect makes for a more involved and entertaining gaming experience in the adventure category in my view. I really did like the way tapping on a particular Mayan fragment led to cut scenes about the history of the artefact and the impact of its theft, but felt we should have had more of this especially in dialogue from the NPCs the game provided. And the romantic angle between two of them was both unnecessary and completely unexplained!

I love it

Maya Prophesies

This developer has done a poor job. Animations don’t respond, takes several click to get an object, etc. Very poorly done. It’s a long list of things that don’t work - not worth the money.
I’m amazed that this passes for a quality game. All the animators are amateurs. Would never make the cut anywhere else.

Don’t buy

Game frozen after purchasing full version.

Mayan Prophecy

Nice simple game to play when you want to destress and not have to think too much. Nice graphics and story flows.

Love EleFun games

I’ve been playing a lot of HOs while hunkering down during the pandemic. EleFun games are some of the best and, like this one, are interesting, operate smoothly have unique mini games and HOPs. I’m always delighted to stumble on from this developer/producer.

Good HO

I could say a few things that would improve but there was a lot of improvements since release. I say go for it, buy it good to go. Good game to pass time.

My first Mayan Prophecies

I found this with just enough difference that it was a break from the crowd of other games. The Map was a big help! Loved the scenery and the island views. I thought it was easy to follow but I skipped a lot of the mini puzzles because I lose patience with a lot of mini games for all HOP’s. Can’t subtract for that. I enjoyed this very much and now I will try more of this series!

Like it until

I like playing these type of games. I even purchased this game however it would not let me choose one of the items in the hop game. I tried everything I could think of but nothing worked. I deleted the game and reloaded it and now it wants me to pay again. Not gonna happen

Loved the sequel!

This is a sequel to the first Mayan Prophecies, and starts right after the first one ends, which I love. You have hummingbirds to collect in each scene by tapping a statue and then catching the bird. In the first MP, the hummingbirds were in the hops, but you found them the same way. I really preferred to find them in the hops as opposed to in each scene, because, like the first MP, you also find morphing objects in each scene. So, two things per scene and nothing in the hops? Kinda repetitive. There are 40 scenes in all, and each hop is played twice. I’ve decided I like that. The length is average. Hops are all list with a bit of interaction. Mini games are easy to medium, and there are some creative ones. Very enjoyable and I look forward to playing the next one!

Was ok

Wish it had the ability to transport between scenes. Was a bit tedious and graphics weren’t as good as some others. 3 stars from me on this one as I definitely don’t think it was worth the $10.99

Mayan prophecies

Impossible de changer la langue du jeu

Old, touchy

This seems very dated, though it has a map with teleport, which seems advanced for this particular game. But the HO scenes and other items you need to pick up, are very annoying. For items you need to pick up, you have to touch them only once, then touch where you want them to go. The hidden objects have items that need to be used together, but if you don’t bring them exactly to a particular spot, it won’t take. I find that annoying.

The humming birds are odd since you don’t see them until you touch them. And other items need to be touched, also.

The scenes are very cluttered with plants and items everywhere. It takes a lot of tapping to find out what you need.

I'm not impressed by this game.

Great graphics

This game is excellent. Graphics are detailed with many details. If you love HOSs and can overlook historical inaccuracies, you will find the game entertaining. Great map.

So far, so good

Enjoying the game. Haven't been playing long, so I am reserving the fifth star for later. Interesting story, puzzles, hops, morphing objects, and the hummingbirds are cool.

Really enjoyed it.

Good story, good length. Easy to follow map. Puzzles challenging, but not so difficult that I give up. One of the few games which I will play again on the harder level.

Fun hidden object puzzles

The hop games are not too easy, and they are often enough to keep interest

Loved it

Didn't want it to end. Only one small downside was time to load each screen was really slow. But other than that, it was really enjoyable to play.
