Mazetools Soniface User Reviews

Generative sequencing made fun

Soniface offers several two Plex ways of creating real time music of a generative nature. It takes a little time to learn, but is very much worth doing so I work with other people and we tend to use our favorite tools in a computer circle if you will. It’s really an iPad circle where we choose what type of music programs we enjoy creating in. My first instrument was guitar but soon I learned synthesizers and I’m used to working in ways that challenge me. Soniface can be as simple or complex as you desire. It’s that simple so I might use this where someone else uses a synthesizer or Samplr but I could also use it by my own and it would be easy enough to get the output of what’s going on Digitally so that an audience could see as one creates. There is a considerable learning curve, even though the program itself is simple. It has a beautiful interface that’s inviting to learn and the results tend to be useful. I strongly recommend this to someone who enjoys trying new things and is able to Work in environments that might not be consistent with the workflow they are used to.
Highly recommend..

runs constantly in background eating battery

Couldn't figure out why my iPad Air 5th gen was running hot and losing power so fast, checked battery in Settings and discovered this app has been chugging along for days just burning through the iPad's power--as in, 85% of the power usage yesterday was from this app, even though I never once opened it. I don't even remember launching it, as I was testing a bunch of audio apps at the same time last week. I probably had this open less than a minute, but it's been using max resources ever since. This morning I deleted it and apologized to my iPad for installing a vampire app. Maybe my battery hasn't been too damaged. 😡

love it

Different way of making music I'm loving it

Impenetrable; crashed while trying to comprehend it

I had this thing running for maybe five minutes before it just crashed on me. Deleted.

Hi! You might try it again, the 4.0 version is hugely improved. Best regards!

A music app that doesn’t work with headphones!!!

Huge potential wasted by one of buggiest and poorest implementation I’ve seen so far. Rather than adding fancy and sophisticated stuffs, the developer should (re)start making the basics work, e.g. connectivity.
What a shame

Hi! You might try it again, the current 4.0 version is hugely improved. Best regards!

Problem with Bluetooth sound

Love the app. Is it normal that there’s no sound when I connect a Bluetooth speaker or Bluetooth ear phones? I’m afraid to buy the pro version and encounter the same problem. Works with wired headphones tho. Also, does the pro version allow multitasking? When switching away from the app, does the sound play in the background?

Amazing with tons of potential

If you want to have a different approach to composing/producing/beatmaking, this is an excellent tool that invites to jam in innovative ways. I love that this lite version has a lot for anyone to play with and find out if you like the workflow.

AMAZING

I’m dumb struck.

useless

I’ve ipad 2017 and it crash only, stop and close automatically

Hi! Please recheck the App. With the latest 4.0 update it should work fine now. Best regards!

Perfect mix of randomness and control.

Open this app at your own risk! High probability that you’ll come too an hour later drooling and confused. I will for sure buy the full version bundled with their new app someday, but realistically-I’m not mentally prepared quite yet. Having access to a single maze is a recipe for having way too much damned fun, so I can’t imagine what playing a passel of them would do...Im leaning toward them effortlessly scorching the entirety of my personal relationships, while rendering me unable to communicate in multi-syllabic words for a period of several months after finally attempting to put it down. In all seriousness: while it’s not the kind of app that you’re likely to pull up on a track in Auria, because it’s going to be the best tool for the particular task you’re looking to accomplish, it IS the kind of app that makes you realize how much fun you can have when experiencing the perfect marriage between an iPad and synthesis. This is why I left my hardware samplers and synths behind 10 years ago and never looked back. Best freebie ever!

Ordinary? Superordinary? Mazetools!? More like, “Amaze”!

Incredible app that’s incredibly fun and instantly mesmerizing! The Ambient, Pad-Like, Deep Drone, Morphing, Transforming Musical Sound design capabilities are very vast and vastly very! Admittedly, I just dove in with out really having a full grasp on what it was I was adjusting/tweaking/moving/sliding/drawing...doing. Lol...but... I was diggin the sound and moving soundscapes!

Once I took a closer look at all the available options... I slowly began to see.. it is, of course, full of familiar parameters.. and once you make sense of the various options within the colored circles and sub circles.. it is then that you discover, this isn’t simply a mindless sound generating, mood enhancing, environment creating synth/FX tool..But that it is actually a friggin fully functional time machine! I’ve successfully put it to the test, it can & will consume large amounts of time instantaneously!

I can’t say I have a complete understanding of it... yet.. lol.. the mystery is intriguing though and imo an enjoyable learning journey. I could easily see it being a bit intimidating at first. Yet, how much so is likely dependent on your knowledge of synthesizers, sequencers, arpeggios etc. But it is well worth a deep dive down the rabbit hole! The work flow will soon enough be decoded. When that “OH ish! I get what’s going on here!” moment strikes, the possibilities really start firing up those creative inclinations.. A great tool to have in your arsenal for sure and/or a fun musical way to pass a few minutes or 3 hours.. wait.. what year is this? 2018 right? I know, I know Hahaha and ha even.

Great app!! Thanks for your creation!

Thanks for the kind review!

Einige machen analoge Hardware-Synths…

Wow! Truly fascinating!

This a hidden gem. Can’t believe it has only 2 reviews. I’d lie if I said I figured this app out, part of me doesn’t want to actually. This app can’t described with words.

Bleikr Sound Studio Approved

Studio will be purchasing the full version after our monthly finance meeting.
Could you make this (or paid version) AUv3?

Response from developer

Hi Bleikr, Thanks for your feedback! We're currently working on some connectivity features. Best!
