Used to be amazing
I used to love this app. I paid for the full version so many years ago that I forget how long exactly, but it has been at least 10 years. More recently since the Ios 26 update, it hasn't worked as smoothly, so I was happy to see the update the other day. Unfortunately, when I opened the app after updating, it prompts me with a message saying a subscription is required, but if you have paid for a full version, you can restore purchase or managed in the App Store. But when I do this, nothing is found since I didn't purchase as a subscription but as a full version. And I haven't found a way to contact the developer. So I now have an app that I paid I think $50 for that I absolutely loved that no longer functions. I don't feel inclined to subscribe to something that I already paid for, especially since I wouldn't use many of the new features they say they have added. I just want the functions that I had before updating a few days ago.

Telling All My Friends About MBraille
So, it's taken me like a decade to really start using this, and now I can't believe I waited so long! MBraille is incredible! I love that I can review and edit text without leaving the keyboard, switch languages with one gesture, and even the clicks while using character echo are very satisfying! I'm telling all my braille user friends about MBraille. The smart keyboard seems to be more adaptable to my fingers than BSI, which I think will help my friends with shorter fingers. :) Thanks for a fantastic app! Keep it up!

Fix little bugs
I still use this app every day to input text, but I have a couple requests. Please bring back the working third party MBraille Keyboard from within apps. I can type and paste from the app of course, but it was so much easier to type in MBraille right from within the app I was using at the time. Second, fix multiple exclamation marks problem!!! In order to put multiple exclamation marks, I must swipe right to space, delete that space, and then put a 2-3-6. Writing several 2-3-6's in a row results in f's being typed.

Reach into your pocket and pull out $39.99?
You actually want us to cough up and pay forty dollars just for a braille keyboard? It's just a keyboard. And it used to be thirty. Why don't you get funding for this app or something so we don't have to become poor and pay forty bucks just for a keyboard. All the in app purchases have a very ridiculous price to them. I would rather pay a subscription of five dollars a month than pay forty. Haven't we payed enough for our iOS devices? Seriously. Deleting this rip off of an app until you lower the full price to about five dollars at the maximum. Oh and you know what else? VoiceOver provides a function that allows people to do the exact same thing that your app does, called braille screen input, and it has spell checked check as you edit the text and is completely free. I may have thought about this app in iOS seven when voiceover didn't provide this function, but not now. There's also other apps like flick type keyboard that allow blind people to type just as good as this app. I might get the full version since it allows you to work with third party apps but still. This app remains deleted from my iPad for now.

The first app to offer contracted braille input and keeps getting better!
When this app first came out, the developer fairly quickly offered contracted braille.
He has continually updated the app, including offering UEB, custom layouts, and many dot commands that allow you to run other apps from within MBraille.
One person couldn't get it to work, probably because they didn't read the instructions or turn off tutorial mode. This is far better than Apple's onscreen braille and worth every penny.

What happened with IOS 13.1?
Since I updated to IOS 13.1, this app no longer speaks. I am an experienced Braille user so can still type, but it is harder with no feedback. Please fix it!!!

Two things:
1: I got this and pressed the keyboard button just to experiment. I placed my fingers, and when I typed it got nothing I typed right. I even tryed different orientations. Nothing worked.
2: Wait so what about braille screen input? That's what I'm writing this review with. It's native, and it actually gets your fingers right.

Best app on my iPhone
I love the many advanced features such as spell checking and aliases that make it stand out from the inbuilt Braille keyboard. This app has been in my dock for many years and I expect it will stay there.
Thoroughly unimpressed.
I bought this app as I was away without my regular bluetooth keyboard, and although the concept is good the help function with all the links which tells you how to do certain things doesn’t work at all so how are you supposed to learn how to use it properly? That was most definitely money not well spent which is a shame as I bought it on recommendation.

This app as well as Apple's on-screen braille are what makes me an unabashed Apple fan. You can edit everything you write without leaving the app. Spell checking, calling a phone number, entering a calender item or a google search are things you can do quickly and efficiently with beautiful wonderful MBraille. The developer maintains a relationship with his community and we love the app. MBraille was the first app to get the translation issues resolved so that an s at the end of a word did not come out as the word so. Buy this app and fall in love with braille again.

Useless app
MBraille is horrible. Its user interface is so complicated to use, typing is very poor. The general layout is not user-friendly. I will not be recommending this app. Braille Screen Input for the iPhone is much better.

This app doesn't work as advertised and I cannot get any support from the author. Save your money and use the iOS built-in braille: at least it works as expected.

The biggest wripoff I've ever known.
So I got the free version, wanted to use the spell checker, so I got the paid version and the third party keyboard addon. That was so much money, and I didn't consider how much it really was until I started using it a lot. Its not worth it y'all. $50 for an app that can't even correctly translate inputted braille to print. It doesn't even use the iOS braille tables, so you can't use UEB to make it work better to correctly identify 4=6+D as ound,instead of .d
Waste of money. And when I tried to get a refund, Apple said I have to go through the app website and contact them about it. They'd better get back to me. That was a lot of money for an app I thought would save me plenty of time, but wound up taking much more time than even typing on the regular touch screen keyboard.

Awful
I was looking for a keyboard to practice braille on. I heard lots of great feedback from friends. So I gave it a shot.
While the program is easy to use the keyboard is not. You are working on a six cell interface instead of using keys on a Perkins braille typewriter. This app wasn't worth keeping. Sad.

Good Start
This app can now be used as a third-party keyboard, but it isn't quite as good as the ios one, yet. The three finger swipe gesture to get out of the keyboard isn't consistant, exiting the keyboard is awkward meaning that the edit field vanishes , and even though I paid for mbraille, and gave it full access in settings, I cannot use the delete whole word gesture. What a random gesture to block out. That being said, if these problems are fixed, the grade 2 input is way better than the ios keyboard. A gesture to send messages should be added, too, to make using the exit keyboard app gesture less necessary.Also, in other apps like Twitter, for example, the standard virtual keyboard is impossible to find. In short, this is a great start, and awesome that there is a braille keyboard for ios other than stock, but this version is still buggy.
