MDM for Schools is an educational app for teachers and students, designed as an extension to the iPad management system for schools (mdmproskoly.cz). Teachers can easily create quizzes, run quick voting sessions (the so-called “traffic light” system), collect feedback via surveys, and manage apps on school iPads – all with a focus on ease of use and real educational needs. MDM for Schools is an app designed for teachers, IT administrators, and students who use iPads in education. It complements the Apple device management system mdmproskoly.cz, developed in the Czech Republic specifically for the school environment. Features for Teachers Overview of School iPads Teachers have a complete overview of all school iPads, including device name, serial number, battery status, available storage, network connection, and the last activity time. This information helps with lesson planning and identifying technical issues early. App Management Once their account is approved by the ICT administrator, teachers can independently install or uninstall apps from the school’s internal App Store according to predefined rules. This gives them full control over the tools used in class. App Request If a required app is not available, teachers can search for it within the app and submit a request to the administrator. The process is automated, saving time for both the teacher and the IT team. Device Reservations Teachers can reserve school iPads for specific lessons. The app shows current availability and syncs reservations with a shared calendar. This eliminates unnecessary coordination and ensures devices are available when needed. Quiz Creation & Feedback Collection Teachers can create quick quizzes manually or with the help of integrated generative AI – for example, by taking a photo of teaching material or entering a topic. Students join via QR code or numeric code and complete the quiz on their iPads. Results are displayed to the teacher in real time and can be exported to PDF. Traffic Light – Instant Feedback During the lesson, the teacher can ask a question out loud and students respond using a color: green (I understand), orange (I’m not sure), or red (I don’t understand). This feature allows the whole class to participate without speaking out loud – perfect for gauging whether to proceed or review the material. Surveys for Students and Teachers Teachers can create custom surveys with open or multiple-choice questions – for students or fellow teachers. Results are automatically processed and sent as a PDF to the teacher’s email. For staff surveys, the teacher can set a deadline (specific date and time) and share access via a numeric code. Results are then automatically delivered once the survey closes. Ideal for collecting feedback during pedagogical meetings or team workshops. Features for Students No Login Required Students join sessions simply by entering a numeric code or scanning a QR code. Their device doesn’t need to be in the school’s MDM – only the app is required. After submitting a quiz or feedback, the app logs out automatically. Security and Access Management Only teachers approved by the school’s ICT administrator have access to teacher tools. All requests (e.g., app installations) are reviewed and managed by the school’s ICT coordinator via the MDM. The app also works on personal iPads outside of school management.
