About

Medic Basics is preparation for the National Registry Paramedic and EMT cognitive exams and for the IBSC Flight Paramedic (FP-C) and Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) exams, built the way each exam works now. Created by a paramedic and ICU nurse educator (NRP, BSN, CCRN, CEN), it has more than 1,100 practice questions with a rationale for every answer choice, scenario-based item sets, adaptive mock exams, and timed rhythm drills. FOUR EXAMS IN ONE APP • NREMT Paramedic: more than 720 questions, 30 scenario-based item sets and an adaptive 110- to 150-question mock • NREMT EMT: an EMT-scope bank across all five domains with an adaptive 70- to 120-question mock • IBSC FP-C: critical care transport questions under the ten FP-C domains, with 135-question mocks • IBSC CCP-C: the same content mapped to the five CCP-C sections, plus ground transport safety SCENARIO-BASED ITEM SETS Thirty calls that unfold from dispatch to handoff: STEMI, tension pneumothorax, pediatric anaphylaxis, overdose, stroke, sepsis, postpartum hemorrhage, cardiac arrest with ROSC and more. • Six linked items per patient, one for each step of clinical judgment • Dispatch notes, vital signs and monitor findings that unfold as the call progresses • Partial-credit scoring with a rationale for every choice you made EVERY ITEM FORMAT Multiple choice and multiple response, highlight, matrix, drop-down cloze, select-N, drag-to-order and bow-tie. RHYTHM AND WAVEFORM DRILLS Timed rounds of 10: name the rhythm on 22 ECG strips, or read 33 critical care waveforms (arterial line, CVP, PA catheter, IABP, Impella, capnography) that sweep like a live monitor. ADAPTIVE MOCK EXAMS • Difficulty adapts to your answers, and the exam stops once it is confident whether you are above or below the passing standard • Questions in the test plan's proportions, with scenario-based item sets worked in • A breakdown by category • Leave anytime and pick up where you left off STUDY MODES THAT BRING YOUR MISSES BACK • Daily Review: spaced repetition brings questions back right before you would forget them • Second tries and follow-ups: a miss returns at the end of the quiz, after a different question on the same idea • Trouble Questions: everything you have missed three or more times, in one drill • Final-week review: past misses return over your last 7 days • Question of the Day, Level Up, custom and timed quizzes, Missed Questions and Weakest Area • A daily goal tied to your exam date, a set number a day, or no goal at all DETAILED RATIONALES Every question explains why the correct choice is correct and why each wrong choice is wrong, lists the references behind it, and links to One-Pagers on high-yield topics. STUDY CALCULATORS Dosage math and field formulas for exam practice: weight-based doses, drip rates, push-dose epinephrine, pediatric weight and tube size, oxygen cylinder duration, rule of nines, Parkland formula, GCS and shock index, each with the formula shown. For education only; always follow your agency's protocols. TRACK YOUR READINESS • A readiness estimate by content area and by clinical-judgment step • Daily streak, accuracy, notes on any question, search, and a countdown to your exam date • Back up your progress to iCloud Drive or Files and restore it on a new device FREE AT LAUNCH Medic Basics is free at launch. We may add a paid tier for future content, but our first goal is to make the app great for the students using it now. Medic Basics is an independent study aid.
