Data Protection?

You cannot access the app without paying for a card and providing data which they refuse to clarify what they will do with it. Data of members is readily available online so clear data protection issues.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review and comments. To access the MIA app you would have to sign up to the MIA Membership scheme which in turn allows you to book hospital visits, check in and check out once you have been to the visit you booked. I can confirm that any data held is not readily available online to anyone other than yourself or to the hopsital you are booking your visit with, an that being said they will only see information to confirm you are an active MIA Member, and you have the correct, up to date training and credentials on your account. Kind regards, The MIA Team

Not updating

Shame the app is not updating
Tried to register a visit and it froze because after answer No I have not been overseas in the last four weeks it then would not accept None for the location

Security of personal held data not sufficient

I would give the App more stars if I were confident in their ability to safely control my personal information.

Log in to the app and to their website only requires ID Member Number and email address. We in the Medical Industry are forced into using MIA by our customers but not protected in doing so.

We are expected to share our ID Member Number on Badges we are expected to wear at all times open to be viewed by all. We attend in the name of our employer and our email addresses are public knowledge. It would not be hard to find these 2 simple pieces of information. Then anyone has access to view, amend or use our personal data. This cannot be GDPR compliant yet we as individuals have no choice but to use MIA to attend hospitals to support our products.

Not acceptable in today’s world of data breaches.
