I spent a while looking for good free mobile music makers, this is exactly what I was looking for. There’s a tutorial and everything. I would probs subscribe (you kinda need to do get the best instruments) if it was a little cheaper.
incredible app, even for free
this app has turned me from a high school violinist into an EDM producer at 15 years old- it’s the only program i understand well enough to use, and i love it for that. it’s allowed me to pursue my passion for music beyond anything i ever could’ve imagined three years ago when i downloaded this. i recently paid for a yearly subscription cause i just had to have all the sound packs, and it’s paid off tremendously! i just finished the best song i’ve ever made, using all those new sounds i just unlocked. thanks so much, medly team! the only additional thing i could ever ask for would be the ability to add a glissando effect between notes, as the pitch bend tool isn’t quite accurate enough to do this quickly and easily. i think this ability would be the cherry on top of the awesome cake that is the app :) thanks so much y’all!!
8/17/26 edit: still ADORE this app, best DAW for iOS of all time, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add some kind of tempo automation and even more importantly MORE TIME SIGNATURES. i seriously need to be able to change how many beats there are per measure- i need to be able to make things in 3/4 or 5/4 or 9/8 or 7/8 etc etc…

Fun and easy but…
This app makes it easy to make music. It has simple and understandable tutorials as well. But I wish there was more free stuff. You can’t use the most string instruments, but there are couple other instruments available. If I had the money I would definitely pay for it though!

The app interface is great. very easy to navigate, easy to use, and it's great. One problem with it. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING requires you to pay a subscription. If you don't pay, you don't get any good instruments, and you don't get any good fun.
I would like to see almost all of the instruments free, and maybe some random ones (like nonsense) could be behind this rediculous paywall.
Please just do some changes. I get you guys need to make money, but find a better way to do it rather than locking almost every single instrument behind a subscription.

Lemme tell you rn, this app’s instruments are VERY subpar. They come as a preset, you can’t upload your own instruments at all, & even if you could, that’d ALSO be locked behind a paywall. I was loyal to you guys since 2018, but every time i would show the pieces i made from this app to others, they made fun of me. It made me lose a LOT of my self esteem in myself & composing in music. Also, the limited options for instruments that aren’t paywalled aren’t as any better than the ones that have been in the subscription (YES, I HAVE CHECKED).
This year I turned to another DAW, & then I realised I was using the WRONG DAW THE ENTIRE TIME.
I do not recommend this DAW, even though it’s *technically* free & easy to use.
If you want to make chill beats, go for it, I suppose. However, fast beats don’t work well whatsoever on this app if you want to try out something like breakcore. I’m listening back to my old songs made last year rn, & they fit PERFECTLY within that genre.
Save your money regardless.

So today I was making a addition to my FIRST song and out of nowhere a VERY important part of the song got fully deleted
Easier to understand
This app makes it easier to create music than all the other ones. Other music creating apps are so hard for me to understand for some reason. This app, though being limited due to having to pay for most things, makes it so much easier for me to make music.
