Quick and easy

Not sure if these other reviews are for an earlier version, but I like this app. It’s easy to get in and answer questions fast. I can open sessions I’ve already started on my laptop without a problem. Questions seem to default at 10 in a session but you can change it in settings to whatever you want. Good, solid questions on an easy to use app. Thanks Medstudy!

What is this

The app doesn’t let you open any features. You can’t even open a partially finished set. You can only start new sets and the max the app candle is 10 questions. This is ludicrous for the amount I paid. Go look at the uworld app if you need notes.

Horrible app

Honestly such an annoying app to use. First off, I challenged myself to do some questions every day, and it can’t even keep track of my streak. I’m on day 28 and it randomly reset to 11 for some unknown reason.
Also hate that you can’t pause a question set. I like to do questions on the go between patients and having it reset is annoying.
Also why can’t we see a previously completed set on the app? If we wanted to review
Hate that there is no “highlight” or “copy/paste” to the notes section of the questions
We should be able to access our notes on the go for quick studying.

Honestly to every developer on this app, please do better.

Response from developer

We appreciate your honest feedback and understand how frustrating these issues must be. Our goal is to make studying as seamless as possible. The good news is that we’re already working on adding key features like the ability to highlight, access previous question sets, and move between different sets without losing progress—all coming in future updates! As for your streak resetting, that definitely shouldn’t be happening. If you reach out to our support team (support@medstudy.com), we’d love to investigate and get that resolved for you. We truly appreciate your input and are always working to improve the app experience. Thanks for sticking with us—we hear you, and updates are on the way!

Fine question bank; terrible app. Better off using a browser to access the question bank.

Not user friendly. The app has very limited features compared to the web version. You can’t resume unfinished question sets that were started via a browser. You can’t do practice tests with the app. It is like MedStudy put out a bare bones app for the sake of making an app. MedStudy clearly doesn’t care about making a fully functional app. You are better off opening a browser on your device and using MedStudy that way. If you are between MedStudy and another question bank, strongly consider the other source.

Response from developer

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Our goal with the app is to provide a streamlined, mobile-friendly way to access study material on the go. That said, we understand how important it is to have a more seamless experience between the app and web version. Good news—improvements to accessing current and previous question sets are already in the works for a future update! We truly value your input and are always working to enhance the app based on user needs. If there are additional specific features you'd like to see, we'd love to hear your suggestions!

Not great

It’s shockingly basic. You can only start questions with set 10 numbers at a time. You can’t resume any previous sessions and can’t even resume the “10” questions if you stay off for too long. Not sure why it s made to have such simple functions compared to the website.

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We designed the app to provide quick and convenient access to study material while on the go, focusing on essential features for mobile use. That said, we understand how important flexibility is for your study sessions. We’re always working on improving the experience, and we appreciate your feedback on resuming sessions and question set sizes. You can actually customize your question set size in your user preferences, so you’re not limited to 10 questions at a time. We’ll be sure to share your input with our team as we continue to enhance the app.

MedStudy v uworld

Compared to uworld, the MedStudy app is underwhelming and disappointing. Not sure why you can’t bookmark questions so you can review them later.

Response from developer

We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. Bookmarking questions is on our current development roadmap and we're excited to let you know this will be available in an upcoming release. We welcome any additional feedback you have, which can be sent to support@medstudy.com.

Annoying to Use. Why am I paying all this $$$?!

I bought the complete package which includes audio pearls, digital book and qbank. I realized you can’t simultaneously listen to audio on your phone and follow along on the website. It constantly logs you out of one if you’re on the other! For $800 I would love to listen while also reading at the same time. Why is this not possible?!

Also the audio is just one giant 6 hour file. It breaks it up by topic so you can jump around but if you want to pause you have to hit the tiny pause button on the 6 hour timeline. NO ability to rewind or fast forward. The basics of any audio program! If you accidentally go to another section you have to start from the beginning of the topic. No way to navigate through a topic if you wanted to replay an important part of the audio. Have to start all over again. Again for $800 why can they not make a better app?!

Response from developer

We're sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with our app. For a more efficient way to navigate try utilizing the chapter markers provided below the player. We understand that you are looking for button options to progress or go back. At the moment, this is controlled by dragging your finger back and forth on the timeline. Your input is extremely important to us so we will take this back to our team as we consider future work. At the moment we do not allow logins from multiple devices. We understand your desire to read and listen simultaneously and will consider how to make that possible.

Missing key features

You can only create question sets with a maximum of ten questions (compared to 150 on the website). Also, there is no “select all” button when choosing topics, so if you want to do a general review of all topics you have to manually select each of the roughly 30 different topics every single time… for each set of ten questions…… so annoying

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your input is incredibly important to us and directly influences our development priorities. We’re actively working on expanding the question set limit and improving the topic selection process, including a “select all” option, to enhance your study experience in our upcoming updates. We appreciate your support as we work toward these improvements.

Quick Study

This app looks nice and makes it easy for me to quickly study a few questions on the go.
