MedWaste Handoff helps generator-site staff turn a stack of handwritten pickup slips into an organized, signed chain-of-custody record for regulated medical waste. It is a facility recordkeeping tool, not a manifest system: it does not replace or submit any official state manifest. Create a Waste Lot with a lot code, waste category you define, generation date, storage start date, quantity, unit, and storage location. Add Transporters and Disposal Facilities to your own directory with name, permit number, and contact details, ready to reference from any lot. Add Handoff Stages in order — Generator Storage, Transporter Pickup, then Disposal Receipt — each with date and time, quantity, handler name, and a signature from an existing photo or drawn on the spot. Every stage starts as a draft and only joins the permanent chain once finalized; a stage can only be added once the prior stage is finalized, so the chain always builds in order. If the quantity at Generator Storage differs from Transporter Pickup, the app shows the discrepancy plainly without blocking progress. Once a lot reaches Disposed, its stages are locked: no direct edits to a finalized stage are possible, and any correction is added as a dated entry referencing the original stage, quantity, and reason, never a silent rewrite. Generating a Record Copy captures a permanent, unchangeable snapshot of the chain — timestamps, quantities, handler names, signature hashes, and party details. Editing your Transporter or Disposal Facility directory afterward never changes an already-generated Record Copy.
