Story of MEEM
The MEEM product is/was a physical power cord with an embedded memory chip of various available sizes. The MEEM app is necessary in order to use the memory embedded power cord. I purchased this product many years ago. And then learned that the company had apparently gone out of business. I believe that the availability of the app through the App Store is mainly to help people who previously purchased the cable and who later get a new iPhone and need to redownload the app on their new phone in order to use the cable.

Flawed Application
Downloaded the App and immediately after it ask for a pin to access & 10 tries before it locks up.. Then if you forgot your password they ask you a series of questions? But the problem is I did not set up a pin password or backup questions.. I tried some generic ones .. But none seems to work and now I’m done to 2 last tries before the application locks up permanently. I try to search for a website for a solution or help and still can’t reach anywhere. So bottom line is it’s a great concept but a greatly flawed designed application .. SOS need help😙

Does what I needed it to do.
Works well for the purpose I need it for!
Absolute LIFESAVER!!
Saved all of my data automatically and then when I lost my phone it was just one step and it restored everything to my new phone. Easy app to use and complete lifesaver. Super easy to use with the cable and sleek look. Really easy and convenient.
Great Cable
This cable is amazing! Works really well and helped me upgrade from my old phone to new phone
The perfect companion
The MeeM lead is an absolutely fantastic bit of kit that nobody should be without. Back up all your vital info pics contacts etc every time you charge your device, quick easy and secure. If you are unlucky enough to loose or damage your device you simply plug your meem lead into the replacement and swipe across from the back up folder to the device folder and it restores all your info, that simple. If you have any questions or tech problems their team respond right away and there’s even a built in help file you can auto email off to them for diagnostics if required.
I wouldn’t be without mine now and always take it with me wherever or whatever I’m doing.

App needs improvement
Each time I plug in the cable, it would prompt up saying “initialising cable”, but 9 out of 10 times it will fail to start the synchronising process, but freezes with no action. Unplug and replug in the cable again it would, sometimes I have to repeat this for several times before it does the work, start synchronising with a count down of 20 seconds. Because each time it will take quite a while to start or fail that I would not bother to wait, but leave it there and find the screen would not shut down the next morning whether or not it work or fail. It’s performance is not reliable at all. It has not been able to make any back in the last 16 days so I deleted the app and reinstalled it as was told by instructions found in the App. It works again after several tries and I have got so fed up playing around with this cable. The cable is expensive (£70) so one can cover the small charges for using iCloud for many years with the cost and it is trouble free.

Not impressed
It’s slow, the features explained don’t work, and isn’t much more than a charging cable. Still waiting 10 minutes for cable to initialise to do anything. I’m sick of waiting and going to bed
Goodbye cloud
Best gadget for those who want to backup your phone without using cloud...
Hardware fails
Love the idea, plug phone in for automatic backup. Worked perfectly for 2 weeks with good app functionality then the hardware failed. Meem very quick to reply to support request but now a few weeks has passed and no help regarding return for warranty, can't rate app high as so dependant on hardware. Real shame.

Great concept, but unintuitive app design
You must have the Meem cable in order for this app to work. It's a great concept - essentially a charging cable with a built in USB drive, which backs up your phone whilst charging.
The app unfortunately seems to have been developed using the principle of "pretty is more important than intuitive", at least to me. There are no obvious buttons to press, no menus....nothing. If you can get the tutorial to launch (somehow I did this - still not sure how!) then you'll be told where on the screen to tap or swipe and in what direction in order to do things, but after that it's pot luck. Words flash and rotate which all looks very nice, but with no indication about what that represents.
Overall it's a great concept and I get the feeling that once setup no further changes would be needed, so it'll be plug in and go. But it would be nice if the app were a little more intuitive.
