remove Icebreakers and open up distance

Similarly to my review for Skout, remove Icebreakers and allow us to freely message people. Most people aren’t even aware that Icebreakers exist because they are tucked away in a not easy to see spot. What’s the point of using Skout/MeetMe if you can’t even send a simple message? I think a big part of the reason why people barely use these apps anymore is that the first step, messaging someone, is unnecessarily difficult. Like I said, most users aren’t even aware when they get an Icebreaker and new users don’t stick around long enough to even figure out where they are; they just assume they aren’t getting any messages and stop opening the app.

We also need to be able to change our distance. There’s not that many people in my area. I understand that apps have to make money, but these paywalls and the way they essentially removed messaging have made the apps useless.

I also think you should not force live streaming down peoples throats. These apps are known for dating and social. If someone wants live streams, there are already better and established apps out there. Most people come here with the intention to date or make friends and if they don’t find that, they don’t stay.

They ruined it…

It was a pretty decent app before to meet new people but now they pay walled everything that was free before and to top it off try to force you to watch ads. This app is basically all about watch uninteresting people and sending them gifts now, the developers ruined it. Highly don’t recommend

No people

Just lives No people near me

Changed for the worse

I’ve been on this app a bit over a year now. It was pretty decent at first. I didn’t have any issues. I don’t know if there was a recent update done but the credits are not matching what they say they are on the app. A rose equals 100 diamonds but when I got gifted, it translated into half of that. This is going to cause people to gift less and not want to support streamers as much if the streamer isn’t getting the proper amount. They’ve also raised the cash out which is fine. I understand the economy keeps going up. But to raise the cashout criteria and then also lower the diamond count of the gifts, I think is just ludicrous.

Crashed my phone and locked it up

For no reason what so ever your app crashed and locked my phone up to the point it had to be restarted all I was doing was browsing the different profiles fix your broken app

It’s only livestreams

The app is only showing livestreams and no “near me” anymore, I tried reaching out to support but I the AI bots they have working that didn’t help. If I only wanted to watch streams I would’ve got an app specific to that.

Trashy app

They did a unannounced update to the app and is now streamers only

Terrible app

Not a good app for actually meeting people . It’s loaded with chat bots and sex workers. You will not find love and ruin your life by spending too much time and money . You can’t see who likes and views you unless you pay for it. just don’t waste your time you will get notified for likes and matches only to not see them. It’s literally just a way to get you to engage with the app nobody is actually interested in you.

Meetme is trying to extort me for my personal information

Update 08/13/2026

Now meetme is being manipulative and forcing us to watch commercials just to view 6 people, like we can’t just look around anymore, and when we do, right before the commercial starts, they show some “babe who is local” anddddd then the commercial starts, and you never see that profile again, meaning it’s fake, meaning meetme is a scam.

A couple weeks after account creation, they then demand my personal cell phone in order to keep messaging people, “for my protection of course.” Then after that little scam, they demand I give them my biometric facial data, “for my protection again.” They make it appear optional, but if you attempt to get around it, you’ll ultimately be forced into giving their scammer team your personal email, and all the info which made your account “secure” in the first place, security questions, etc, except that now all that private info is in an email and their little weirdo team has it. This app is a spy app for other countries, that’s why there’s so many scammers on here, because matchgroupllc who owns this app, is behind all of this data breaching and selling of our info.

Trash

Trash app, nothing but live now, don’t recommend

This app sucks

App turned to garbage just trash streaming and ads

Keeps booting people out for no reason

Can’t be in a live stream more than three minutes without the app kicking you out that person stream
Or while you in somebody live stream or in the box streaming with them

Updates make this app terrible, ads for a dating app?

I don’t know if this app was sold to another company, I definitely believe that’s the case, I’ve been on this app on and off for 5ish years. The app was good for the first three the last two haven’t been great, the updates make it harder for people to inbox you they created this thing called “ice breakers” this is a person who inboxes you, if you have 5 people you have to go in order from the first person delete or talk to them but you don’t have the freedom of looking at any profile of the person that inboxed you like before. They made another update that now makes you watch ads…ads for a dating app, RIDICULOUS!!!

Kps message

So I’ve been using this app for a long time. None know there’s a lot of cocky people you know if you get somebody to report you for no reason then I guess you lose your application. I think that’s very wrong. just because I had a wrong experience with somebody. Doesn’t mean I deserve to get my account well it is what it is. I’m sure why people have a privilege because I’m brown I have less but hey, that’s the mentality you guys own. Don’t worry I’ll make sure this gets to corporate

Horrible app

This app bans you for absolutely anything, I listed 3 photos no nudity or anything explicit and perma banned my account within seconds, there’s a reason the app has 4.1 stars and nothing higher. Just use something else their customer support can’t be reasoned with. If you post any clothing like v-Necks and such your probably bound to be banned for absolutely anything stupidity.

Overheating

My iPhone 14 Pro Max is overheating while this app is open. I took off the case turned down the brightness and even closed the display towards the last hour of my friends 2 hour karaoke stream just to listen in. It still was overheating. Now that I closed the app, my display is on to write this review and has began cooling down which wasn’t happening earlier when I had app open only using audio to attend the stream.

CrackerBarrel2.0

TheMeetGroup is like Cracker Barrel and its recent failed rebrand; they implemented a bunch of changes that its consumers never asked for and now they will spend years paying for it. Cracker Barrel at least reversed the changes, TheMeetGroup seems dead-set on continuing on the failed path to becoming a mostly streaming service while killing the dating aspect of it, causing thousands of its consumers to walk away. That kind of damage will take years to recover from.
