Good game but buggy

I really loved the game “Shades.” This replacement/alternate is buggy and less responsive.

Close, but no cigar…

A cheap imitation of the original, which was absolutely seamless. This knock-off seems to work ok, but the implementation isn’t nearly as smooth and refined. I looked everywhere for an update to the original Shades app when the copy I had stopped working with the current version of iOS; but the developer seems to have let it die. Too bad. It was a real classic. I guess this version is better than nothing.

Not the original!!!

Do not waste your time. This game is not the original version. And it is obnoxiously frustrating how pathetic it is in comparison.

Love this game, one bad bug

I love this game. It’s a great way to occupy just the right amount of my brain so I can still listen to a conference call while I play it. It’s meditative. But there’s one really annoying bug. When I pause, it would be great if the game always actually paused. Right now, frequently, blocks keep dropping behind the Continue overlay, so pause just brings up the overlay but the game keeps playing itself behind that.

Bring back the older shades!!!!

This new game frustrates me because it goes into a different column then you put it in, and it is not as smooth as the other version. The old version was smooth and it was more fun because the colors changed every level and it wasn’t the same old boring color.

Boring

Gets very old that all I have to say

Bring back the old version

Had really nice smooth background nice and much better side effects.
The changing colors as you passed levels was better too, being able to chose the color is fine, but it makes it more challenging if the colors change every time you start a new round

The original was better

Just not the same game it used to be 🤦‍♂️

Original “Shades”?

I used to play a game exactly like this in 2016/17 but it had an AMAZING soundscape and different color schemes. If this isn’t the same SHADES, does anyone know where the original is? And if this *is* the same SHADES, it’s gone downhill. BTW this here game has a glitch where sometimes the block doesn’t go down into the column you select and it ruins your whole game. That happens maybe one game in 10. The other 9 are fine.

Straight up copy of shades...

I played the OG shades a few years back on Android, and went to look for it here. This is the only thing I could find, and you copied the app icon, the gameplay, even the name and you just added mega to it.

As for gameplay the only thing that changed was that merged tiles will not merge into the next tile down if you want it to; this is a terrible change because it makes you stack higher than you want. The strategy in shades was to get as little tiles as possible so you could clear row after row of maximum color tiles.

Overall this is a terrible shades ripoff and I would not recommend it to anyone.
