About

Melody to Notes writes down the tune you sing. Sing, hum, whistle or play one melody into the microphone, or open an audio file you own, and the app gives it back as real sheet music, note names and a piano roll. Great for tunes you make up, childhood songs you want to play, and music students checking themselves. • Record with a live pitch meter: the note name in big letters, how many cents sharp or flat, and a pitch trail. Optional count-in and metronome. • A transcription engine that runs entirely on your device: pitch tracking, splitting of repeated notes, octave correction, tolerance for vibrato and slides, and tempo, time-signature and key detection. • Drawn notation: treble or bass clef, key signature, beams, dots, ties and rests, with note names underneath in Do Re Mi or C D E. • Edit: tap a note to change its pitch or length, split, merge or delete it; edit a range of bars, drag a note along the key, undo and redo. • Open files: audio (WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC), voice recordings you share, and MIDI and MusicXML files, also through "Open in" and the share sheet from the Files app. • A song with music: the app looks for the main tune under the band and gives an approximate melody to check and edit. Pick a part of up to 3 minutes. • How to play: a piano keyboard that lights each note and numbers the order, soprano recorder fingering and guitar tab. Suggested easy chords and "Find my key". • Playback as piano, flute, marimba, organ or voice at any speed, loops over chosen bars, and A/B against your original recording. • Practice: the app plays a phrase, you sing it back and get a score, plus a sing-along mode with big lyrics. • Lyrics under the notes, Hebrew too. • Export MusicXML (for MuseScore and other notation programs), MIDI, PDF and an image, or send the note names as text. • A library of free, public-domain tunes: classical, folk, children's, Jewish and holidays. • Hebrew and English, dark mode, iPad and landscape layouts, and screen-reader labels for every note. Good to know: the app writes down ONE melody line — a voice, a whistle or a single instrument. From a full song with a band it gives an approximate melody that you should check. It does not write the chords of a recording and it does not connect to any streaming service. Everything happens on your device: no transcription server, no account and no ads. Recordings are kept only if you allow it. The demo tunes are public domain or original.
