Coins?

What are the coins for? I bought 1000 coins and I don’t know where they show them or how you use them. Also, I don’t have a hint button all I have is just the game and if I hit the button to go back to the game if I ran out of time it freezes. I have to get out and start the app again. 🤷🏻‍♀️
